Sampled draft @ Delirium Hoppy Loft. Amber, creamy white head. Nose is sweetish yeast, banana, sugar, candy with some fruity tropical hop. Taste is light iron, corn sugar, passionfruit, candy, banana, tropical fruit hop. Yeast & light iron body. A tad too sweet but decent IPA even if not particularly remarkable or exceptional.

Bomber. Pours a unfiltered hazy pepper orange with an off white head and aroma of hops and pine. Taste is bitter sweet, with hops, pine, caramel, malt and grapefruit into the dry finish.

With Z, pours a deep rusty orange color with a beige head. Nose is deep citrus with softer pine and resin. Taste is citrus as well , with a nice bitter sweetness and softer pine. Finishes on the same dry tasting notes , drinks rather easily ! Quaff Score 7 / 10

Draft. Thick but not dense lace. Faint whiff of grass. Flavors of peach, melon and caramel malts mix well. Brewer’s description promises bitterness, but I get none of it. Terrific beer.

Grassy hop bitterness and a hint of sweet malt come from this hazy pale copper brew. Grassy and citrus peely with a bit of maltieness come from this mediumish bodied brew. The aftertaste is sweet with a slight bitterness.

Pour out of 22 oz bottle, hazy orange pour with fluffy eggshell colored head, very lively carbonation. Aroma brought notes of caramel, bread, some lemon into a bit of orange peel, orange marmalade into a slight herbal note. Taste was a mix of herbal hops, grass into some lemon, orange, some slight hints of mango into some caramel, toffee, finishing fairly sweet, slightly bitter, a bit too much carbonation.

Geruch nach Citrus und Eisbonbons, zusätzlich stark brotig. Gute Restsüße. Bitter, aber gut ausgewogen.

Strong in odor with a murky appearance, it provides a nice earthy, almost brush-like flavor that leaves a good sharp taste that quickly vanishes from the palate.

Bottle. Pours a clear deep amber, creamy thin head. Sweet IPA with complex aroma. Decent, balanced, but not on par with Sculpin. From notes 2/15/10.

June 9th, 2012 - When I first arrived in San Diego, Marin Brewery’s beers were here and there, but more or less a rare bird. Spotting them was an exercise in chance. Nowadays (reviewing the beer in June, 2012 and writing the review in February 2014) Marin is much more common, and the market has shuffled over and made room on the couch. I have had some Marin beers that made me see why, but their IPA is not one of them. It’s an adequate IPA, with a uniform IPA taste. The bitterness is underdeveloped, perhaps intentionally, and by San Diegan standards it comes across as the lovechild of a weak kneed IPA and an Amber, with a boozy stickiness and none of the hoppy burn. The hops flavor is there, sure, but without the forward flavor that hop addicts get riled up about. From the hazy dark orange color comes a lovely aroma of cinnamon and peanuts roasted in honey, but again, the hops is somewhat quiet. This is perfectly drinkable, and worth a try, but is a little dull in a roaring, frenzied market filled with exciting India Pale Ales.
