This is an amazingly smooth IPA. I first had it with pizza in Fremont, CA, and fell so in love with this beer that shortly after I drove to Marin/Larkspur just to have it at the brewery! It’s a great IPA, if you get the chance to try it, don’t pass it up.

UPDATED: JUN 9, 2012 On cask at Toronado in SF. A: Ruddy, light amber body. Tight, medium head. Moderate retention, spotty lacing. S: Grapefruit, lemon, orange. Lightly bitter. Some caramel malt. T: More of the same. Very mellow hop character rides on top of a subtle malt base. Mostly grapefruit here. M: Smooth, creamy. Mellow finish with not much of a bite. O: A very nice cask IPA good amount of flavor with a nice feel on the palate.

Medium bodied IPA that has a grapefruit bitterness to it. Has a lingering dry finish. Not a great IPA.

Bomber from BevMo in Pasadena, CA. Pours a hazy amber with orange highlights under a medium off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit and pine resin. More citrus (orange, grapefruit), herbs, bittersweet chocolate and vanilla in the flavor. Sturdy and unobtrusive malt backbone. Silky texture. Quick, dry and pleasingly bitter finish.

Tasted on 5/18/11 from a 650mL bomber bottle purchased at Sun Devil. Pours hazy orange-amber with a thick white head that slowly recedes to a bubbly spotty layer of lace. The nose is hoppy with spruce, pine resin, hints of cinnamon and caramel, and a solid amount of caramel malt. The flavor is spruce and resin hops bitter along with a very heavy mid-palate featuring weighty vanilla, caramel, and cinnamon, and finishing with very nice bitterness. The body is medium with average carbonation and a long caramel malt and spruce bitter hops finish.

golden yellow, clear w/ steady bubbles very hoppy nose. primarily nettle hops w/ some pink grapefruit citrus. thin/med body and very fizzy this is a pretty mellow and balanced hoppy IPA. it is primarily stemy/nettly hops with citrus grapefruit hop as a close contender.

A tasty brew that pours a dingy copper color with a lasting head. Smells fresh with some mild biscuiting. Medium nectar with ample effers. Tight in flavor with a light malty backbone. Hops seem acidic rather than citrusy. Finishes dry. Not bad but not great.

Nose smells of pepper, lemon, grass, and a little bit of alcohol. Color is orange and murky, with a slight greenish tinge. The promise doesn’t follow through to the palate. Very thin and little lingering bitterness. A very average IPA.
