22 oz. bottle from Mr. Liquor. Poured dark brown with a thin head that still left a nice lacing. Aromas of caramel vanilla. Flavors of caramel with a hoppy finish and an alcohol aftertaste. Very tasty.

One of the more enjoyable barleywines consumed on the night of Rob’s fantastic barleywine tasting. A nice way to break the Lenten fast. Nice mahogany hue with notes of toffee and bacon fat on the nose. Vicose, fruity (orange peel, citron, dried cherry) and a nice lingering hop finish. Well done.

Cookie dough, orange candy, caramel. Light tobacco, earth. Amber orange pour, thin white ring around the edges. Fruity flavors, good amounts of orange candy, caramel, little iced tea, nice sweet/dry balance. Drinkability is high for style. Enjoyable.

I loved this barleywine. It’s sweet, but I like a real sweet brew from time to time. It’s a nice dark brown, with a full body and thick mouthfeel. The aroma leaves something to be desired; that’s where the alcohol makes itself known. The first taste Is caramel, fig, toasted nut, and a dull orange flavor (not tangy.) As I progress through the beer, there’s more coffee there. I didn’t find the finish very dry at all. It’s a pretty sticky brew the whole way through. It’s highly drinkable/enjoyable, and despite the fairly high ABV, I never felt like I was getting my ass kicked. Fantastic.
