COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Like the old porters of Ireland, our porter is super-rich and velvety. It is deep brown in color, with richly roasted and chocolate-y flavors. Like all Marin Brewing Company Ales, this contains no preservatives and is not heat-pasteurized.

Use caution when pouring-forms a huge persistent head. Nice and dark. Super smooth and velvety. Very nice!

22 oz. bottle via BA trade about 6+ months ago. Didn’t want to wait any longer. Pours a dark, mostly opaque, brown with a small beige head. Aroma of chocolate, toast, nuts, mild roast, and even a hint of dark fruits. Flavor of chocolate, earth, nuts, toast, and pit fruit. Medium-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a toasty, nutty mouthfeel. Very solid porter.

Tap at Marin. Very dark pour with a frothy brown head. Huge rich chocolate, cocoa, and roast on aroma and taste. Outstanding porter.

Tap: pours black with medium tan head with aromas of roasted grain, chocolate, and burnt toffee. Flavor is big with roast grain that brings in some bitter tartness and a very light caramel sweetness. Palate is lightly sweet, with smooth bitters and tarts. Flavorful, will have more.

On tap at Cafe Reyes in Point Reyes Station, CA. Opaque, near black brown. Arrived at table with no head. Fair lacing. Aroma of coffee and chocolate. Taste cocoa and coffee with bit of toffee flavor in the finish. Above average body and carbonation with a creamy, soft foamy mouthfeel. (Not thin at all as reported by most reviewers of the bottled version.) ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Thanks yiannos for sharing it with me. Nice black color, with a good bubble head. Aromas: strong coffee and chocolate Taste: same with a dry long finish. Medium body. Not so thick, but good enough for a porter. Very nice

Thanks to GatorGuy92 for the share on this one. Cheers, Matt. Pours a medium brown color with an off-tan head. Nose is cocoa, baker’s chocolate, chocolate malt, and some roast. Flavor is similar with cocoa, unsweet chocolate, and slight roast. Finish is a little dry with bits of cocoa staying for a bit. At 6%, I could have a few of these.

Bottle from a trade a while back with a fine southern californian. Zero carbonation here. unfortunately I would like a little more fizz so as not to feel so bland and unexciting. The roasty coffee flavor is nice though. Burned toast and faint fruit aroma. Flavor is quick and mostly that coffee aspect. Good but not great here.
