Not exceptional but a good, solid stout. Almost black with a deep brown head. Aroma of coffee, dark chocolate, raisins, toasted almonds. Flavor shared the same components. Started sweet and ended with a coffee bitterness. Nice.

Pours a finger of tan head on a black body. The aroma is rich roasted malt, toast, burnt wood and milk chocolate. The taste is rich malt with good balance, a touch of pine and coffee bitterness. The texture is silky smooth and light. Wonderful. An exceptional brew.

Bottle: deep brown, light head and moderate lace. Very dark roasted nose with coffee, chocolate and brown source. The aroma is good but verging on bringing burnt or too heavily roasted. Dry to off dry, not sour and low bitterness. The palate is creamy but lacking in depth & complexity of flavor.

On tap in SF. Pours black with a nice clean even ring of a tan head. Aroma is roasted malts and heavy on the chocolate. Flavor is similar. Lots of sweet chocolate. Fairly creamy mouthfeel. Very solid.

Keg at Ballast Point Little Italy, 12/11/14. Black with a decent tan covering clearing to a swirl. Nose is big roast malts, light charr, chocolate, dark toffee. Taste comprises bitter roast, earthy cocoa rub, liqourice, dark toffee fudge. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close. Decent stout.

Geruch nach Röstgerste! Leicht sauerer Geschmack aber gute Restsüße. Solide und lecker,

Tap at Mane Liquor. Pours black with a rich tan head leaving nice lacing. Nose is vanilla-esque with mild coffee, plenty of roast, slight dirt and toffee. Taste is very vanilla forward, almost essence but without sweetness dominating before the coffee and heavy roast come through. A note there reminds me of white chocolate. It has a mildly warming heat to finish showing its abv. Not a crazy stout in any way and fairly sweet forward but a solid drop

"it does have a nice flavor and a creamy texture, but calling it an imperial is a bit of a stretch. judged as a straight stout, though, it’s very good. well balanced and flavorful."

Bomber shared. Poured dark brown to almost black with mocha colored head. Aroma deep and rich roasted dark malts. Hints of chocolate, coffee, licorice and oats. Amazing aroma. This flavor is outstanding deep dark roasted malts heavy body chocolate, licorice, and oats. This beer rivals breakfast stout from founders. Excellent.

Siper, particularly for such a low ABV. Awesome coffee aroma, followed thru by a roasty flavor with a hint of chocolate. Just a drip of sweetness. Not bitter. Dry finish. Recommended!
