2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20
May 27th, 2012 - Like the peach itself, peach beers can range from spot-on ripeness to insipid torture against the senses. A freshly ripped and gingerly delivered Palisade Peach can absolutely define a trip to the weekend farmer’s market. An claustrophobic, suffocating peach hot off the refrigerator truck is a sad, shivering specimen of the fruit, and more than likely to go to waste. The Marin Beach Peach is more of the second one. Yes, the smell is agreeable, smelling like freshly cut peach flesh, and brightened with a nice tangerine acidity on the nose. But somewhere between the nose and the taste these fruity touches disappear, leaving a light, wheat flavor, a thin palate, and watery, diluted tasting brew.

3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
On tap at the brewery. The peach is a magical wonderful fruit and this beer does nothing to capture that. Malty, syrupy, sticky.

2.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
On tap at the brewpub. Lightly hazy, pale golden in color and with a small, white head. Artificial peach aroma with some sugary hints. Mostly peachy flavor, with sweetness and a little bitterness. Quite dry though. Medium body, nice carbonation. Long, dry finish with some peaches and a little hoppy fruityness. Too artificial for me, else ok. 130806

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Not bad considering I brewed a peach that tasted exactly similar with slightly less sugar and more bitters. Anyway aroma is light peach and carpet. Appearance is clean clear yellow orange with no head hardly and skinny legs. Taste is almost sweet n low but sweeter than no sugar added peach tea and grains enough to satisfy a beer, its barely bitter and minimum hop. Palate is sugar free tea and grains. Overall a decent lil peach beer made with minimal ingredients but I think that how they wanted it . Pretty decent and simple.

3 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Tap at the brewery. Pours a very light and clear golden with minimal head. Could be the pour. Aroma is natural peach, sweetness and some milk like aroma. Taste is at first a nice peach balance but then goes into a peach extract realm that it never lets go of. The sweetness doesn’t overwhelm but it definitely isn’t true peach. The light mouthfeel makes me think of a bad adjunct light beer and something that will give me cancer in two years. Overall, pass.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
22oz bomber pours deep gold with copper hues and thin off white head. The aroma has firm peach essence with faint malt sweetness off in the background. The taste begins with thick peach notes that approach extract syrupy peach rather than fresh peach slices. To midway it gets a touch sugary sweet with a sliver of malts and then it picks up a yeasty coating all overall the palate. Into the finish it gains a nice level of cereal like graininess that helps balance out the sugariness. Should this be Bolinas Beach Peach?
