COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
3 Flowers IPA is a straw colored Rye IPA. The three flowers referred to are Citra, Cascade, and Chinook hops, which are cast into the brew liberally, and contribute a lovely citrusy, floral aroma and a firm yet balancing bitterness. Malted rye and flaked rye, gently added to the grist of this refreshing brew, bestow an engaging dry spiciness and luscious mouth feel upon the imbiber. Please feel free to have another.

22oz bottle. Pours amber with a white head. Citrus, tropical notes, floral hops, moderate bitterness. I really enjoyed this one. Very drinkable. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

OK, I knew nothing of this beer before trying it and was wondering if it was going to be a floral mess. Boy was I wrong. Gold medal last year!??! Wow. OK, poured up on tap at GABF 2012 with a pale gold body that exhibits a nice yet slight hop haze and supports an off white head of foam. The mild aroma is a little bit sweet and a little bit floral and really not much else beyond that. Smells good though. The flavor is nice, man this is pretty rich with firm floral hop bitterness, a bitter hop spiciness and then a touch of earthiness. Wow, terrific flavor and fully bitter hop forward from front to back but it offers up a touch of backbone to add wonderful depth and richness. Yes.

On draft at the brewpub. It pours a very clear yellow gold color with a nice white head. The aroma is an awesome combination of citrusy and earthy hops with a very clean, almost pilsner-like maltiness. The flavor is the same with a beautiful earthy dank bitterness and clean rye flavor. Great beer.

A - Served a hazy golden-yellow color with a thin finger of frothy white head atop. The head fades down at a normal pace leaving behind some good lace. S - Aroma is a mix of sweet caramel malts with some spicy rye, and some earthy and citrus hops. T - Starts off with some sweet caramel malt with some light spice from the rye and some citrus hop. Through the middle, some more piney hops come through with more bitterness. The finish is mix of rye with some citrus hops and light bitterness. M - Medium-plus bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a nice spicy and dry finish. D - Very drinkable. Really nice rye addition to the IPA base. Really nice balance of malt, grain, and hops.

Draft @ APEX. Big sweet floral nose, minimal carbonation. Hard to tell what flowers the name alludes to, but my guess is jasmine, honeysuckle, something like that. Practically no head, thin eggy lace. Hazy golden straw color. Rye bite upfront, but well-balanced by the hop profile, which shows plenty of grapefruit and bready flavors. Well-balanced and tight; a rare good hybrid of rye and IPA.

This is very pale for an IPA and slightly cloudy w/ a small head. Its nose is big and fruity w/ a fresh grape-like character. This is very well balance, smooth w/ medium carbonation. It has a maltiness that implies some sweetness w/o feeling sluggish or sticky. Very tasty.

Tap at Marin. Fantastic IPA. Light gold pour with a white spotty head. Light crisp body with a bunch of citrus hops and a hint of rye. I could drink this all day.

Bomber from the brewpub. Pour champagne bubbly gold with a slight creamy white head. It’s forest flowers, rye spice and mild caramel for aroma. Med body at least. Flavor is floral and rye spice with enough caramel to support a rather large amount of hop. Hop burn builds. Not NW harsh, but very hoppy and pretty bitter. Like rye. A lot.

Phone rating. Draft at Marin. Bright golden color with an orange tinge. Vibrant, dank citrus and grapefruit in the aroma, with the lightest showing of rye. Medium to medium-full body; loads of juicy lemony and grapefruit citrus, beautifully done hop character, and a lightly toasty, spicy rye note. Modest acidity, medium levels of co2. Delicious. Lasting, bitter finish; a West Coast IPA with a touch of toasty rye.

Pours medium golden with a very thin eggshell colored head. Nice subtle hops in the nose with a slight sweetness. Same in the flavor which is a bit more forward, with a medium mouthfeel and slight dry finish.
