Keg at the brewpub, 29/01/16. Clear golden with a decent off white head. Nose is caramel, sweet malt, trace of lemon, dark fruit rinds. Taste comprises Belgian yeast esters, straw, caramel, sweet licks. Full bodied, fine carbonation, light warming boost in the close. Ok for style ... The sweetometer doesn’t go to mental !

On tap @ brewpub during RateBeer weekend, January 2016. Light, hazy yellow-orange appearance with a nice sized white head. Banana, peppercorn, citrus, spices, clove, pepper. Moderate light body. Moderate high sweetness and moderate bitterness. Decent.

phaleslu (9380) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - FEB 21, 2016
Draft at the brewpub, served in a flight. Pours a clear gold with a small white head that settles into a ring. Sugary, with pale and sweet malts, hay, banana, wheat, and clove. Light-bodied, with moderate carbonation and a sweet mouthfeel. Overly sweet and one-dimensional. Not bad, but lacks complexity.

[1/29/16] Draught at Marin Brewing in Larkspur. Clear golden. Aroma of fruity esters and light spiciness. Sweetish flavor with malt, fruitiness, and a bit of spiciness. Medium-bodied.

Sample on tap at the brewpub. Clear gold pour with thin white head. Yeasty aroma, belgian tripel, spicy, light booze, grainy, fresh bready notes. Taste is lemony, grainy, nice classic tripel flavor. Palate is med bodied, dry, with good carbonation. Reminds me (slightly) of tripel karmeliet, good stuff.

Draft at source. Very perfumey nose almost like a wit. Taste is full of coriander. This is like an imperial wit. Weird.

Draft at the Marin brewing company larkspur. Clear golden yellow coloured pour with a lasting white froth. Aroma is decent clean Belgian yeast, some spicy hop, coriander, orange. Flavour is composed of quite sweet grains, orange and spicy hop, hint of medicinal hop, a bit too sweet. Palate is semi sweet, highish carbonation, semi drying spicy finish. OK triple, but what is the point in a triple.

Bottle. Dark golden, decent head retention, thick malty aroma. Drinks meatier than many tripels, almost lager-like. There’s a hint of a musty farmhouse moistness, and this hides its 9% well. Clean and unoffending, but not outstanding. (#5916, 1/13/2015)
