tap at the pub. A bit of a weird beer. I do not get anything relating to a Belgian triple out of it. It pours with a much darker color than you would expect form a triple. It has some aromas of fruit and flavors of grapefruit, sweet molasses and some astrigency. Also it is a bit boozy when it warms. Bready yeast is totally missing, this certainly is not up to par with most of their other beers.

Not sure where I picked up this bottle, but I’ve had it for a while now. I used to find it all over the place, but it’s since dried up. So to celebrate a Raiders win and an evening with the family I popped open this bomber and gave it rate.

The beer pours out a medium orange color, slightly hazy with an off-white two finger thick foamy cap. Aroma was caramel sweet, with fruity notes of apples, pears and just a touch of alcohol. Flavors were predominately sweet, caramels and apples with a smooth finish of alcohol. Tasty beer.

Draught at City Beer, San Francisco. This beer is a hazy orange with a small, off white head. There are some citrus aromas, orange, bubblegum, alcohol. I taste more citrus, peach, apricot. The mouthfeel is medium, smooth, approachable.

22oz bottle acquired in trade. 2005 vintage (16th Anniversary). My bottle lists this as 10.1%. Poured a medium and slightly hazy golden color with an averaged sized white head. Aromas of yeast, fruity (apples), caramel, spices, and a little bready. Tastes of spices, the same apple fruitiness, and yeasty. For over 10%, well hidden. Lightly sweet.

On tap at Lucky Baldwins. Clear golden with a foamy white head. Sweet fruity aroma with a big tangy bite.

Medium amber, bready, fruity, little spice, alcohol, little light and thin for the style.

Bottle. Light amber with a quickly disapperaing white head. Aroma is extremely light but estery. Don’t notice much of the hop scent. Full mouthfeel with a sweet tinge throughout. Hop influence is barely felt, and I didn’t notice too much alchohol. Overall an okay California style Belgian, but a little too light for the style. Worth trying, especially because it’s sub-$5.

Pours a golden-amber color with a nice-looking frothy/sticky white head. Aromas are fairly light, on the grainy side with some hint of the sweet fruity estery qualities. Flavors were very sugary and floral, pretty strong on the alcohol side... no trace of bitterness. Mouthfeel was very syrupy and... along with the alcoholic "heat", made for a pretty intense brew. The alcohol does linger on for quite awhile, and I’m not sure if this beer is tasty enough to justify that. Pretty one-dimensional.
