SDalkoholic (1055), Chula Vista, California, USA Jun 16, 2005 2005 bottle: The 16th anniversary for Marin brewing. Might i add that they have become one of my top brewers and could possibly be in my top ten category. The aroma boast a sweet fruity banana smell as well as a spicey use of yeast. Had a quick white head created but left in a instant. Blonde gold for its hue and can leave behind a small trace of lace. The banana plays a major role in the flavor throughout the drink, but it will also be shared with a consistent spice/ yeast zing. A notice of coriander or perhaps tangy orange peel making this an appealing abbey tripel to be reckoned with. Will have to buy a couple bombers more of because i wonder how a year or so could transform this. Excellent Drink.
fidel (310), Livermore, California, USA Oct 30, 2008 Updated: Nov 18, 2008Medium amber, bready, fruity, little spice, alcohol, little light and thin for the style. Moosington (22), Costa Mesa, California, USA Oct 3, 2008 Bottle. Light amber with a quickly disapperaing white head. Aroma is extremely light but estery. Don’t notice much of the hop scent. Full mouthfeel with a sweet tinge throughout. Hop influence is barely felt, and I didn’t notice too much alchohol. Overall an okay California style Belgian, but a little too light for the style. Worth trying, especially because it’s sub-$5. DarkMagus (412), San Jose, California, USA Jul 29, 2008 Pours a golden-amber color with a nice-looking frothy/sticky white head. Aromas are fairly light, on the grainy side with some hint of the sweet fruity estery qualities. Flavors were very sugary and floral, pretty strong on the alcohol side... no trace of bitterness. Mouthfeel was very syrupy and... along with the alcoholic "heat", made for a pretty intense brew. The alcohol does linger on for quite awhile, and I’m not sure if this beer is tasty enough to justify that. Pretty one-dimensional. AleDrinker (1073), Sunnyvale, California, USA Jul 28, 2008 Pours golden with thin head. Aroma is full of yeasty esters. Full bodied and sweet. Not bad. hapjydeuce (615), Carlsbad, USA Jul 16, 2008 Bottled. Clear light amber color that pours with a fine white film and adequate carbonation. Mildly fruity aroma with a nose of clove, poached pear with lime, and white bread. Not a very balanced flavor that starts sweet and ends quickly with minimal bitterness and no linger at all. Simple, one-dimensional and uninviting after a half-bottle. Whatever.
