22 oz. bottle, pours orangey amber with a beige head. Aroma of toasted malt, toffee, and floral hop notes. Flavour is quite fruity upfront, with toasted malts, nuts, toffee and a grapefruit hoppy finish. Very enjoyable.

This beer wants to be an IPA, but it’s not an IPA, which is maybe a problem. Very hop forward character, full bodied, but not terribly interesting. Not sure what it wants to be, and so it’s not great at anything.

22. Pours a cloudy dark amber with a few nucleation columns and a dense creamy tan head. Tons of heavy sedimentary rings and drippy lace too. Bready caramel and earthy herbal hop nose. Interesting bucolic notes. Creamy medium body, definitely on the full side of medium. Toast, caramel, floral notes, oranges, maybe a bit of herbal or grassy quality there as well. Mild malty finish. Really a lot of flavor and heft to it. Nice stuff.

Not too impressed. A bit sweet and I’m not a fan of the hops. Kind of veggie like and herbal. Flavor reminds me of Kalamazoo Hopsolution. The 8% is nicely hidden.

Pint @ Jolly Roger. Totally tasty pint but I don’t see anything special. Waitress described it as Jolly plus IPA. More IPA than anything else. Would like to try again.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 Aubrey (3347) - Bellingham, Washington, USA - MAY 17, 2011
First sip induced an eyebrow raise. Mealy malts -- toasted bread, toffee and burnt brown sugar. Citrusy and grassy hops. Has an earthy wholesomeness to it. Alcohol isn’t hot, but it’s noticeable after some gulps. Good texture; thickens with warmth. Overall, it’s a bold beer. A little rough around the edges, in general, but it’s still good.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 riversideAK (5413) - Shoreline, Washington, USA - MAY 16, 2011
Nose of caramel, toast, earth, fruity floral hops, touch of pine and dank and some darker malt sweetness as well. Pours darker amber, nice creamy head and lace. The flavor is malty initially, toast and caramel mostly followed by nice floral and fruity hops. Nice lingering hop resiny flavor and moderate bitterness. Strong malt presence but good balance. Full bodied beer.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 skoisirius (1200) - Earth, Washington, USA - MAY 6, 2011
One of the more fuller beers I’ve had from Maritime, very pleasant when that happens. Nice citrusy, hop juiced almost DIPA flavors running around in this guy. Gentle, but excessively bittered as well. Good stuff.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 5000 (4974) - Hardened Liver, Washington, USA - MAY 5, 2011
Bottle:   Amber, copper tones, moderate off-white head, foamy and sticky.   Pale citrusy/hoppy nose.   Sweetish up front, a little bit of raw hops and citrus rind on the backside.   Body and mouthfeel are moderate to full.   Decent maltiness on the backside, wards off the slight bit of rawness that this beer is.   Nothing real special, but pretty solid.   Almost like an IIPA.
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 scrizzz (2223) - Bothell, Washington, USA - MAY 3, 2011
Clear caramel body, strong effervescence, pillowy creamy pale tan head, sticky lacing. Dry toasty leafy nose, balanced nicely with this hop varietal which pops with lemon and grapefruit before falling back to a woodsy toasty dry finish, little astringent in the finish.
