3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
UPDATED: MAR 4, 2014 Clear and brightly golden with a nice and foamy head. Smooth, drinkable texture. Malty backbone (bready, nutty, toasty). Herbal, earthy, grassy and fruity (apples, pears). Mild-to-moderate bitterness. It doesn’t seem to have a ton of complexity, but it’s a solid beer.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
12 oz. bottle from Bottleworks. Transparent copper-colored appearance. The head is slightly fluffy, and it doesn’t seem to be going anywhere. This has a nice, fresh pine hop aroma. It’s quite pungent, but it just doesn’t reach that peak that so many other great Double IPAs have achieved. Damn, I should have caught this beer when it was more fresh. It has a nice citrus touch at the end, but it’s mainly malty. It has a nice resinous texture, but that doesn’t save it, taste-wise. Damn, I can imagine if I had this fresh it would be bursting with hoppy goodness. Now, not so much.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from RiversideAK, Thanks Alex! Pours a clear deep gold with a creamy off white head that left some great lacing. Nose was full of citrus hops along with some biscuity malts. Almost creamy on the palate with a touch of hop bitterness in the finish.

From the bottle, courtesy of Summer Secret Santa 2010, pours a clear orange red with a small bubbly white head. Not much in the nose, some malts. Taste is thickly malty with a quickly bitter finish. Not a remarkable beer, but a solid beer. Thanks Santa!

[3066-20100701] Tap. Grainy mild grassy hops aroma. Clear, pale orange body with a medium-lasting creamy off-white head and some light lacing. Bitter grassy earth hops flavour has a mild citrus and long bitter grassy aftertaste. Medium body is bitter. Interesting to try, could be sessionable.

3.6 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
6-pack from Fremont PCC. I’m a sucker for limited release beers so this one caught my when I it looked like I had already tried everything on the shelf. Smells like a corny lager but tastes like hoppy heaven. Pours a golden color and imparts the kind of citrus bitterness that hangs in the back of my throat. Too bad this is limited because I would drink this all the time.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
12 oz bottle. Pours murky golden with a small white head. The nose is decently bitter pine hops mixed with dank, funky hops and moderately sweet barley. The taste is murky at first, followed by bitter pine that is in between an ipa and iipa. The palate is smooth. Not really an iipa but oh well. Decent. Rebuy? Probably not.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
On tap at the brewpub. Pours a golden straw color. Nose is fairly dry with pine and citrus hop aromas. The taste is somewhere in between what you’d expect of an IPA and an imperial IPA. Hops dominate with tastes of orange and pine. Some slight spice flavor and a background of bready malt. The finish is dry and bitter, and the alcohol comes through a little. My favorite of their lineup - a solid IPA.
