Suttree (2702), Knoxville, Tennessee, USA Nov 25, 2007 Cask, at the brewpub - Cloudy gold, big foamly, loose head. Really nice, spicy hoppy nose. Big piney, sticky hop flavors at first, the some mellower, fruitier citrus flavors. Nice & satisfying. PilsnerPeter (2593), Flushing, New York, USA Nov 21, 2007 Bottle: Pours a nice cloudy golden color with a bubbly white head. There are odd phenols in the nose, with only mild, grassy hops and lots of spice character (sage). Light fluffy carbonation, with an easy going flavor. Soft malt back, giving it a subtle sweetness. The hop profile is very limited, and mild. It has a butterscotch touch and a smooth mildly bitter finish (almost spearmint-like) A very light and simple IIPA, which seems more like regular Pale Ale, or Pilsener. Ibrew2or3 (2714), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA Nov 15, 2007 On tap at Brouwer’s Café in Seattle where it was listed as “Maritime Pacific Dry Hopped Imperial IPA.”
It poured a crystal clear gold with lasting white head and sheet lacing. The aroma is pale sugary malts, some mild breadiness and faint vague hoppiness. The taste seems malty up front with sugary sweet malts and notes of bread. Then the hop ante up with vague tart bitterness initially then about midway some grapefruit hop bitterness surfaces. As the finish approaches the pine hop bitterness grows and heads right into the after taste. The pine really hangs around for a while. YUM. jcwattsrugger (5223), Florida and, New Jersey, USA Nov 6, 2007 on tap-pours a thin white head that laces and yellow color. Aroma is nice citrus/lemon hops. Taste is nice citrus/lemon hops, some malt, some alcohol. 3.9
070902 @Engine House #9- on tap-pours a retaining off white head and hazy yellow/gold color. Aroma is citrus hops (nugget and centennial?) taste is citrus/pungent hops-some bitterness, secondary medium malt. Mild carbonation. 4.0
riversideAK (2648), Shoreline, Washington, USA Oct 24, 2007 Updated: Aug 6, 2008Clear yellow gold color. A buttery malt and mildly piney aroma. Not alot of bitterness in this one. I get honey, malt, and some funky hops in the finish. I get the wheat too, which is wierd for an IIPA right? A lingering bitterness hangs around. Its pretty funky and hoppy in the finish. BuckeyeBoy (1645), Boise, Idaho, USA Oct 6, 2007 On Tap at Maritime Pacific Seattle. Pours out a clear gold topped with a nice head. Light floral and citrus hop aroma. light bitterness. I would not guess it was a 2IPA. But a good IPA it would be. Beershine (2678), Hue, Vietnam Sep 3, 2007 More overtly hoppy than its APA counterpart by maritime Pacific, this IPA will do just fine. Had on tap served way too cold, which is unfortunate. SamuraiArtist (292), portland, Oregon, USA Sep 3, 2007 Bottle: Pours a dark golden color, slightly hazy. Thin White head. Very citrusy hoppy juice aroma. Flavor is light malt, high bitterness with lots of citrus floral hops in the bitterness. Cirsp and alcoholic. Pretty good.
