Amber color with a nice thick head. Big floral nose with a nie hops behind that. The malts are with a fruity character and the hops are very bitter. This is a big Impy IPA. The hops do feel light in this beer. I was hoping for more florra and citrus hops flavor. I was not overly happy with this beer. JK (2949), Richfield, Minnesota, USA
| 2.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 2/5 | 9/20 | Aug 22, 2007 Not very good. It does have a pleasant citrus hop aroma and promises to be a bitter, flavorful beer. Some grain, alcohol, and metal, all make the flavor unappealing. Skyview (4022), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 22, 2007 Picked up a single 12-oz bottle at Bottleworks in Seattle. Pours a semi-hazy golden brew with an average off-white head that slowly dissolves to a film and some spotty lacing. Aroma of mostly citrus zest, some caramel malt, pineapple and some barnyard hay. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with a stong citrus zest flavor with some caramel malt and Ivory hand soap. Finish is citrusy bitter and has an IPA style of character. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 18, 2007 Draft at Ray’s Cafe in Seattle. Pours a golden amber with a dissipating white head. Aroma is rather tame for the style, which has hints of citrus and piney hops. Very balanced between the malt and hops, perhaps too balanced. The malt profile has some slight toastiness, and even some pale wheat. The bitterness is dry and grassy, that carries through to a clean finish. Not a bad beer, but perhaps a little mild for the style and nothing really grabbed my attention. It paired well with my salmon burger. shigadeyo (2263), Harrison, Ohio, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 15, 2007 8/15/2007: Maritime Pacific Limited Release Imperial Pale Ale is cloudy yellow-orange in appearance. The short, frothy off-white head leaves behind lots of fine, delicate lacing. The aroma has a slight butter toffee maltiness with a nice dose of tangerine and soft pine hoppiness. The flavor is stong. There is a good malt base that doesn’t interfere with the substantial, yet controlled level of floral and pine bitterness. However, is a bit of soapiness about mid-palate and some grassy hoppiness toward the finish that I would rather not be there but this beer is still pretty good overall. The body of this beer is medium to medium-full and feels smooth and slightly creamy on the palate. "Imperial Pale Ale" describes this beer well. It is like a strong Pale Ale that is quite bitter, but not quite enough of eaither to really make it a true Imperial IPA.
12 fl. oz. bottle sent to me by bitbucket. Thanks Bob! Rating #65 for this beer... jhumphries69 (722), Tyrone, Georgia, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 7, 2007 Pours a deep orange with a medium-sized off-white head. The aroma is very hoppy with pine and flowers. The aroma also contains some notes of crystal malts and caramel. The flavor follows the aroma, although the flavor is balanced more on the malty end than is the aroma. The flavor is malty with caramel (perhaps some diacetyl) and has a firm but smooth hop flavor and bitterness with a piney, floral tone. The mouthfeel is quite smooth and creamy for the strength. thedm (3834), Fort Wayne, Indiana, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 4, 2007 This draft brew from a restaurant poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized white colored bubbles that were and left behind a transparent softly carbonated golden brown colored body and a good lacing. The aroma was malt hop. The crisp mouth feel was very tingly at the start and at the finish. The flavor contained notes of malt and hops. A decent one that I would consider buying again.
