Commercial Description:
Hoppy, crisp, and citrusy, with an underlying malt character. Made by blending lots of malted barley, wheat, and a judicious quantity of Cascade hops. A "big" beer!

Draft at Katie Downs Tavern in Tacoma, WA on 7/23/07. Clear orange with a medium white head. Citrus based aromas with notes of spruce and light toffee. Medium body, slightly resinous. Lots of malty sweetness here, barely brought under control by an herbal hoppiness for a mildy dry finish.

On tap at Amore restaurant, Seattle. Light fruity orange oil-grapefruit nose, with nice grassy fresh hops cone aroma. Bit of mild grainy malt. Medium amber clear with foamy lacing off-white head. Medium-heavy body with medium carbonation. Starts with mild grain sweetness and big hoppy flavor. Huge fresh hops taste to start followed by big grassy, harsh bitter finish. Medium bitter after with light chalky coating. Nice IPA, wih good malt-bitter balance.

Draft at The Brooklyn, downtown Seattle. Medium straw, crystal clear, thin white film atop, heavy lace. Big bready nose, a little bit of sour too. Nice firm body, good carb. Nutty, toasty, resin and pine finish. Nice stuff.

A golden orange pour. Smells very good but a bit of a disappointment when I "wet my whistle". A citrus flavor but not a true weat coast imperial IPA.

Medium golden with creamy white head. Light floral citrus aroma carries over to the taste, but doesn’t stand up to all that water. Despite lingering bitter citrus at finish, this is not a standard IIPA.

Poured a bronzey golden hue with a frothy, nicely lacing. Potent hop nose, bitter finish and delectable all around presence. Oh yeah!

Bottle. Light clear amber pour with a frothy white head, leaving spotty lacing. Big aromatic hop nose- peach, pineapple, citrus, over light caramel malt. Sweet light caramel flavor complimented by a nice infusion of citrusy cascades. A bit syrupy, with a piney and somewhat soapy finish. Lightly carbonated. Pretty decent ’big’ IPA, though not quite among the best.

Bottle. Even though it is quite simple I love the bottle artwork. Pours a pale gold color with a nice white head on top. Aroma is hoppy with grassy and citrusy notes. The hops are met with a caramel malt aroma. Flavor is mostly grapefruit flavored hops with hints of pine as well. The beer starts off with a sweet caramel taste going into the grapefruit/pine flavors. The beer ends with a hoppy bitterness. No hints of alcohol content show up at all. An enjoyable beer.
