Cupid was good to us with this sweet, hoppy, roasted beer. Beautiful dark amber color, well-balanced beer with delightful hop finish. My favorite Christmas beer of the 2008 season. captaincass (45), Everson, Washington, USA

| 2.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 8/20 | Jan 28, 2009 From the bottle pours dark copper with a soft off-white head. Big boozy nose, caramel, brown sugar, and soft citrus hops. The flavor was dominated by booziness, vodka burn and flavor. I’m not sure what was going on, but this was one of the hottest beers i’ve had. I’ll have to try again next year to see if it’s different. snakeoilpete (324), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Jan 28, 2009 Updated: Mar 6, 2009On tap at Georgetown Liquor Company. Pours a reddish brown with a good-sized head. Aroma was not very strong- a little roasty and malty. Flavor was similarly malty, with a little bit of spice and a hoppy finish. I didn’t know the ABV was so high when I ordered it, but I figured it out, as I could definitely taste the alcohol every once and a while (it wasn’t unpleasant or overpowering though). theisti (1654), Leawood, Kansas, USA
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Jan 13, 2009 Shaker pint draft at the brewpub. Pour is ruby golden with a small tan head. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, dark fruit and some bitter hoppiness. Aroma is a bit muted, though it opened up some as it warmed. Taste is a nice blend of the sweet malt, fruit and hoppiness. Palate is medium, masks the high ABV quite nicely, I would have never guessed this was 9%. Cletus (5052), Connecticut, USA
