had an oak aged pint from a 2004 tap nearly 5 years old, at Freds Rivertown Alehouse in Snohomish, WA. as there isn’t a separate installment for this Im rating it here. Balanced malts and hops, but to the sweet side. nice oak spiciness. I cant compare it to the non-aged version, but this is a great find.

Deep dark brown and some what hazy colr, brown head and decent lace that dissipates quickly. Nose is malt and the aroma of the Cascade and Chinook hops are also present. Front is malt sweet, the middle moderate as is the carbonation. The finish is hop spicy, dry, with a high abv, this is quite a treat.

seriously thick and heavy. light to moderately hopped. very, very strong. dark and roasted, but the predominant flavor is malty-sweetness. nice deep-red color. a must for winter-beer / strong ale fans. very nice.

Wonderful Holiday ale. Deep brown color on the pour, aroma is light and sweet. The flavor is rich, malty with some caramel touches. Full Flavored, full bodied. Really awesome brew.

This beer reminds me of the Pyramid Snow cap because of all the strange flavors that come up intermitently. There is a very sweet, yet sour contrast, and a candy-spice flavor that is VERY strong! As I understand it, the brew for 2001 was closer to 9.5% alcohol, and so it almost borders on a barley wine! The color is not particularly representative of how truly special the taste is. Many of the Maritime Brewing company beers seem to leave me with a feeling that I had a very unique beer, but not something I would nessasarily try again. This one I WILL look for next year, though!
