Skyview (2657), Papoose Jct., Minnesota, USA Jun 24, 2008 On draught at the Jolly Roger brewery/taproom grill in suburban Seattle, WA. Pours a clear golden pale brew with a fast dissolving white head that started large and then that leaves behind a thin film and white ring with some spotty lacing. Aroma of golden grain malt, citrus zest, with a touch of mild yeast. Taste is light to medium bodied, lightly carbonated with flavors of golden grain malt, some lemon zest, and a touch of Ivory soap. Finish is mildly bitter with some citrus zest and a pale ale hop aftertaste. VitaminR (242), USA May 5, 2008 Has a bicuity baked bread grassy nose, some fruitiness. Gold color, decent head. Good chewy malt sweetness, balanced by a somewhat complex spicy hop bitterness. Nice carbonation, easy drinking and crisp--but it really delivers with some complexity. The longer than expected finish is something I can only describe as simply "tasty". This is a very easy drinking beer that has more to it than your typical American Pale Lager. In fact, this might be one of the best "neo" American Pale Lagers made. Really enjoyable easy drinking beer for any occasion. riversideAK (1468), Shoreline, Washington, USA Apr 17, 2008 Pours light gold with a nice head. Aroma of pale bready malts, a little sweetness. Flavors of light sweet malt, bread, with a grassy crispness and perhaps a little metallic note. A great thirst quencher with decent flavor and a crisp finish. Nice fresh lager. BrewDad (1553), Olympia, Washington, USA Apr 13, 2008 5oz Taster - Jolly Roger Taproom - Seattle, WA
Aroma – Strong malt aroma very light with the hops.
Appearance – Golden in color, thin head and clear.
Flavor – Deep malt flavor with a silk flavor for that deep malt liquor flavor.
Palate – Good Mouthfeel, nice texture with a dry finish.
Overall – This was a very nice lager with some good flavors.
Bier brauen (129), Bremerton, Washington, USA Dec 12, 2007 Pours golden. Thin head. Yeasty aroma. Strong carbonation, Lawnmower beer body with a small bitter finish. Much better than bud.
