A run of the mill wit comes with the usual Market Garden "tax". Despite that it offers a reliable profile that is typical of the Ohio City brewery. Well worth trying since it is always on draft, this release offers a good example of Market Garden’s capabilities.

Aroma / Appearance - A cloudy carbonated base bubbles with activity. Light crisp white head accents the underlying core. Light lemons, crisp wheat, and dry citrus rise lazily with a clean profile that lacks too much complexity.

Flavor / Palate - Lemons, hay, and wheat spark the senses. A dry transition carries to a crisp conclusion that refreshes the palate. The result provides a capable experience with the flavors you would expect of an average wit. Missing are the hallmarks of something that goes above and beyond into world class territory.

Half growler shared by beerpig317- thanks, Bunker! Pours a pale, hazy yellow color with a small white head. Notes of wheat, coriander, lemon, faint banana, and minerals. Light-bodied, with a dry, crisp mouthfeel and medium carbonation. Good witbier.

32oz growler, shared by beerpig317. I think he said it was about a month old, but this was still carbonated and drinking wonderfully. Hazy golden color, thin white head. Some dots of lace. Nice belgian wit yeast, light spice in the aroma. Smooth, crisp lighter carbonation. Lightly dry finish. Medium body. Moderate bitter taste, some zesty sweetness. Good orange citrus. Solid witbier.

Growler to snifter (shared by Beerpig317). Looks solid; a cloudy lemon gold with thin white lacing. Smells of Belgian yeast with notes of citrus and spice. Tastes like it smells with a good mouthfeel. Decent beer.

Sample at the brewery...basic wit aroma with a nice lemony wheat taste. Nothing terribly new but good for the style.

Dogbrick (8680) - Columbus, Ohio, USA - JUN 14, 2013
Sample at the brewpub. The beer pours a cloudy yellow color with a thin white head that dissipates quickly. Spotty lacing on the glass. Aroma of fruit and spices. Light-bodied with flavors of fruity yeast, spice and wheat. The finish is sweet with a fruity and herbal aftertaste. Decent overall.

Sample at Market Garden on 9/11/12. Clear yellow pour with a medium white head. Malty nose with notes of banana, orange and coriander. Malty flavor with orange and banana before an herbal finish.

Draft sample at brewpub. Poured hazy yellow color with an average creamy white head that mostly lasted with excellent lacing. Moderate yeast, coriander and tart citrus aroma. Medium body with a smooth dry texture and flat carbonation. Medium sweet flavor with a medium sweet spicy finish of moderate duration. My expectations where met with a refreshing beer.
