Commercial Description:
This is also a dark "big" ale. Made in the traditional British Ale style, it uses 6 different malts (pale/crystal/victory/chocolate/roasted barley/black malt) and two different brown sugars to produce a truly complex flavor. It has a strong warming effect from the high alcohol content, delicately balanced by Williamette hops.

Draft at the brewpub. Pours copper brown with a beige head. Roasty sweet malt aroma with a hint of coffee. The flavor has roasted malt, caramel, nuts, and coffee. Easily the best offering I had.

Another nice beer on tap. Dark amber, very nice head and lacing, big malt feel. Very nice overall.. Alcohol is not that prevalent.

Sample on tap at brewpub. Notes of coffee and nutty roasted malt. Bit of chocolate with neutral fruit and some mild herbal hops. Dark copper brown clear with hops and light tan lacing head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts with a bit of caramel and chocolate, coffee and nutty roasted grain. Neutral fruit and light nutty bitter after.

I don’t get how this is a mild. It’s more a cross between a shwartbier and an old ale, with lots of different malts use to give it an interesting malt complexity. It is also 6.5% not consistent with a mild. IBU is 28, there is a modest hopping. Very decent dark malty aroma and taste. Moderately Chocolate creamy.

Muted aroma, sight roast and cherries. Deep crimson in color with a slight head. Flavor abounds with soft caramel, toffee, roasted malts and a noticable brown sugar. Terrific English style ale.

On tap at the brewery. Dark brown, little head. Tasty, slightly sweet and roasty.

Deep crimsony brown, light tan creamy head. The nose was nice with soft smokey notes, roasted bittersweet chocolate, mild coffee, and just a very faint hint of black currant. Flavor is very similar with just a hint of bittering hops in the end. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, softly burnt chocolate finish. This one takes the cake for this place. Nice brew...

Growler brought back by my brother-in-law. A little bit of dark brown light shines through the body. Nose is light caramel, cocoa, a little milk, slight cherry. Flavor is slightly smokey, bitter burnt malt, caramel, dusty malt finish with a little cherry and maple.
