| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 20, 2007 I don’t get how this is a mild. It’s more a cross between a shwartbier and an old ale, with lots of different malts use to give it an interesting malt complexity. It is also 6.5% not consistent with a mild. IBU is 28, there is a modest hopping. Very decent dark malty aroma and taste. Moderately Chocolate creamy. jah noth (1023), Rochester, New York, USA

Flavor abounds with soft caramel, toffee, roasted malts and a noticable brown sugar. Terrific English style ale. Brewbie (234), New York, USA

| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 11, 2006 Deep crimsony brown, light tan creamy head. The nose was nice with soft smokey notes, roasted bittersweet chocolate, mild coffee, and just a very faint hint of black currant. Flavor is very similar with just a hint of bittering hops in the end. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, softly burnt chocolate finish. This one takes the cake for this place. Nice brew... rudolf (1789), Buffalo, New York, USA
