2.7 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20 Lubiere (7003) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 23, 2011
A clean dark brown ale with a thin off white head. In aroma, a sweet nutty malt with light solvent notes, oily. In mouth, a sweet nutty malt with solventy notes, caramel, diacetyl, boring. On tap at Seneca Lodge Brewfest, Dec. 3 2011.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20 zdk (1624) - New York, New York, USA - AUG 25, 2011
tap at Brewpub - this one sort of defies style description. Lightly roasted malts with some chocolate and nut character. Plenty of caramel and some toffee notes. Creamy body. Not bad.
3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20 johnnnniee (1001) - Bedford, New Hampshire, USA - AUG 6, 2011
On tap 8/1/2011 Pours a deep dark brown with a tan head that seemed to last forever. Aromas of chocolate, caramel, roasted grains, and a bit of toffee. Smells is quite inviting. Taste is roasty and malty. Chocolate caramel and toffee mixed with a hint of astringency sum up the taste experience here. Fizzy carbonation ruined the mouthfeel for me here, this one seemed a bit over carbonated. Decent brew that might be better served a bit less bubbly.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 blipp (3920) - Newark, New Jersey, USA - JUL 19, 2009
Draft at the brewpub. Pours copper brown with a beige head. Roasty sweet malt aroma with a hint of coffee. The flavor has roasted malt, caramel, nuts, and coffee. Easily the best offering I had.

Sample on tap at brewpub. Notes of coffee and nutty roasted malt. Bit of chocolate with neutral fruit and some mild herbal hops. Dark copper brown clear with hops and light tan lacing head. Medium body with medium carbonation. Starts with a bit of caramel and chocolate, coffee and nutty roasted grain. Neutral fruit and light nutty bitter after.
3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 Sammy (6130) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - OCT 20, 2007
I don’t get how this is a mild. It’s more a cross between a shwartbier and an old ale, with lots of different malts use to give it an interesting malt complexity. It is also 6.5% not consistent with a mild. IBU is 28, there is a modest hopping. Very decent dark malty aroma and taste. Moderately Chocolate creamy.
3.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20 JahNoth (1039) - Rochester, New York, USA - JUL 29, 2007
Muted aroma, sight roast and cherries. Deep crimson in color with a slight head. Flavor abounds with soft caramel, toffee, roasted malts and a noticable brown sugar. Terrific English style ale.
