75cl Bottle at home, looks very nice, but tastes rather thin for its strength. Slight taste of Germolene?

Bottle. Dark brown with a small head. Coffee and chocolate mingles with a trace of woodiness. Smooth and left lots of lacing. Easily the best M and S beer so far. Does this mean that they are taking beer seriously

Bottle. Near black with a beige foam. Aromas are nutty, toasted roast coffee with woody notes. Rummy with floral, spicy notes and bubblegum with some toffee. Smoky with leather and blackberry. Flavours are sweet molasses with earthy, smoky coffee and dark chocolate bitterness. Vinous with herbal sweet liquorice and some soapiness. Dry with raisins and blackberry fruitiness. Pretty good.

Scopey (1678) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 31, 2011
Bottle from M&S Victoria station at Leighton’s pre-xmas celebration. It pours deep ruby, with a thin beige head. The nose is roasted malt, touch of smoke, whisky and wood. The taste is chocolate, wood, meat, smoke, whisky, roasted malt, charcoal, peat and earth, with a dry finish. Medium body, moderate carbonation and foamy mouth-feel. Not bad and not nearly as peaty as expected.

Bottle at home in London. Thanks to Sr. Scopey. Pours clear, reddish-brown with a moderate, light tan foam. Nice and restrained smoke aroma, light chocolate. Medium sweet flavor, light smokiness, some cured ham, light roast, some dry cocoa. Medium bodied with fine, massing carbonation. Dry, pleasant smoke finish, light honey ham, light charred wood. Very enjoyable beer. Not too intense, quite drinkable, with nice wood notes.
