2.5 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 10/20
I have to say I was expecting more from this. I quite like Du Bocq’s saisons which there known for, but this is a little thin, quite tasteless, and overall in my eyes a pretty average beer.

3.3 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from M&S, Watford. Poured a clear, dark brown, with a medium beige head. Aroma of caramel, rich fruit and and Belgian yeast esters. Dried fruit in the flavour, with a little cocoa and fruitcake. Finish was slightly dry with a little grassy hop, grain and raisins.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle, guess where from? Dark brown, with no head. Aroma is yeasty and fruity with liquorice and spice. Tastes quite sweet and with dark fruits and liquorice. Carbonation feels rather strange, has a fizz that doesn’t suit it.

3.2 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
330ml bottle from M&S Edinburgh. Pours clear dark red-brown, short-lived beige head. Aromas of burnt sugar, light herbs, light metallic note and yeasty zing. Taste is more sugar and herbs. Thin on the palate and a sweet finish. OK.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
deep dark brown/red colour with a tanned head that ends up quite thin. Smells sweet and floral much like the taste with very slight bitterness it’s long and lingers a bit and almost cola like. Bit fruity as well.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottled 330ml from M&S, Banbury. Chestnut with short lived off white head. This seemed to go flat quite quickly, it is really quite sweet and still, ripe berries, blackberry with a background of toffee, butterscotch. Slightly thick on the palate. Ok.

2 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20
Bottle. Nose is cola bread yeast, some dark fruit. Taste is cola, some licorice, red berries. Taste fades on the mouth quickly and leaves a slight candy sugar/molasses cola finish. Mouthfeel is too thin for the style and too carbonated.
Another baffling choice of beer from M&S. De Bocq who brew this make some fine beers, but this is awful. It’s too sweet. It can only be of interest to folk who have no access to other Belgian browns..

3.1 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Bottle. Dark brown and red with a diminishing foam. Aromas are chocolate and molasses with brown sugar. Earthy with dark berries and herbal notes. Flavours are herbal with chocolate and Weetabix malts. Berries with low roast notes and spices. Decent but very much standard.
