A decent chocolate porter but nothing exceptional. Mild grain, caramel and chocolate smell with chestnut appearance - not as dark as most porter’s I’ve had. The taste is quite bitter at the start which then rounds off with roasted malt and milk choclate at the back end. A thin and dry mouthfeel which actually masks the 6% abv very well. Probably best to have with a rich pudding.

Bottle at Chris and Ruth’s pre-GBBF 2015. Clear golden beer with an offwhite head. Malty caramell fruity sweetish aroma. Malty caramell chocolate vanilla flavour.

Scopey (9384) - Croydon, Greater London, ENGLAND - AUG 18, 2015
Bottle at Pre-GBBF Shindig 2015. It pours clear deep amber-brown with a thick off-white head. The nose is soft, brown bread, fruit cake, quite sweet, sugary, spice and mild cocoa. The taste is toasty, cocoa, caramel, powdered chocolate and dusty leather with a dry finish. Medium body and moderate carbonation. There is something a bit artificial about this one. One-dimensional.

the lightest porter I have seen in my life. Looks like amber. Aroma is chemical chocolate. Nothing really outstanding about that beer.

Pre GBBF tasting at Chris and Ruth’s. Clear amber beer, decent pale cream colour head. Palate is airy and semi dry. Modest fine carbonation. Tangy malts. Artificial chocolate. Tangy fruits. Light dry finish. Contrived and artificial but hard to hate.

Bottle. Pours chesnut in colour with low head. Aroma is dark chocolate coffee. Taste is dark bitter chocolate, cardamom and malts. Palate not creamy enough, otherwise nice beer for dark chocolate lovers.

Pours a white head with light aromas of roasted malt. Amber to brown colored see through body. Important carbonation helps hiding a light but unpleasant taste of root. Couldn't feel the chocolate. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
