From 0,5l bottle, BBD: 11/2014. Pours clear dark brown liquid, red to brown against light, medium brown frothy head, Aroma: sweet, roasty, dark chocolate, milk, Taste: light sweet, medium bitter, light to medium sour, roasty notes, espresso, dark chocolate, citrus, at the beginning some metallic off taste, bit watery, but at the end with higher temperature ok. Palate: medium body, slick texture, average carbonation, long bitter-sour finish. Overall: expected more fro an Irish dry Stout, but drinkable - after warming up a bit.

Bottle at M&S. Aroma mostly roasty, suggests dryness. Lightly soapy. Clear very dark colour, beige head. Taste is fairly dry, particularly towards the finish. Simple one-dimensional roasty flavour, might even be too strong for me, lightly burnt. However overall a decent irish stout.

Douberd (2306) - Arnhem, NETHERLANDS - MAY 20, 2014
Bottle 500 ml at home, poured into a big Guinness glass. ABV 4.5% A tone lighter before it becomes totally black, two fingers tall dark brown head, thick, with good retention, leaving spots of lacing around the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, cold coffee, oats. Taste has again roasted malts, plenty of coffee and especially on the finish, oats, light dark chocolate. Mildly bitter aftertaste that insists. Medium body, good carbonation giving a bite at the end, dry palate. Overall a more than decent beer, especially considering its made exclusively for a supermarket.

500 ml bottle from M&S. Deep brown, big foamy tan head. Nice dry roasted malt in the nose, some dark chocolate, a little coffee, leather and roasted barley. Flavour is dry, roasted malt, a hint of chocolate sweetness toward the finish. The roasted notes are very pronounced and get stronger as the beer warms. It?s quite light in body, medium soft carbonation. Short dry roasty finish. Decent.

Bottle. A very dark brown beer with a reddish hue. A small, beige head on top. Coffee, chocolate and and some faint bonfire notes. Some bitterness in the aroma, as well as chocolate and coffee. Medium body with a nice carbonation. Roasted finish with coffee and chocolate. A really nice one, but it gets sort of flat after a while. 140416
