3.2 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20 nealgersh (19) - South Yorkshire, ENGLAND - MAR 1, 2012
On Carlow Brewery’s website it described their Easter Stout as follows, and this M&S beer seems to be the same or very close as I think these tasting notes apply to it pretty well
O’HARA’S EASTER STOUT
Dry Irish Stout with 4.5% ABV
TASTING NOTES:
Appearance: Deep black with a reddish hue when held to the light. Pours with a slightly tan coloured head.
Flavours: Initial flavour is of dark chocolate, as it warms in the mouth the flavour profile moves towards hints of coffee.
Aftertaste: There is a distinct spiciness which mingles with the lingering coffee and chocolate flavours to give this stout a dry finish.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20 dogbomb (291) - ENGLAND - JAN 17, 2012
Bottle from M&S. Pours black with dark brown when you hold it up to the light. The head is classic heavy tan stout, but it disappears faster than a lot of stouts. Chocolates, coffee and roasted malts. Body is nice and creamy. Bitter on the tongue, with sweet tones which balance quite nicely. Really nice. Not the greatest stout - but certainly a good drinker!
3.7 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20 stravale (580) - Scottish Borders, SCOTLAND - NOV 28, 2011
Bottle from M&S (of course!)
Black, ruby edges, thick tan head with reasonable lacing.
Aroma of chocolate, molasses, coffee, roasted malt.
Taste of roasted malts, fruity berries, burnt crust, charred wood.
Palate - soft carb, medium body, silky smooth.
Finish - flavours expand greatly throughout the mouth - roasted malt, fruity, burnt notes and a dry woody bitterness that lingers but this tails off leaving a clean palate.
Overall - This well made stout has an impressive rich finish that overshadows the main flavour
