4.3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 5/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 18/20
The aroma is hops with some background sweetness. The beer is black with a nice tan head which retains well. Whilst the aroma is average the flavour is excellent. Dark chocolate and liquorice with a dry and medium bitter finish. This is the first time I have tried a Black IPA and hopefully it wont be the last.

3.5 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled 14/05/14. A black beer with an off-white bubbly head. A hoppy beer. Dark roasty notes too and quite a lot of bitterness. Not too subtle; in fact a little harsh. Aroma is too thin. Tasty enough just not satisfying.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottled, 500ml from Marks & Spencer in Banbury. Very dark brown with ruby highlights and Cream Head. This is quite a smooth and silky beer, there is a burnt woody note, some liquorice, some damson fruitiness alongside a bitter hoppiness. Very decent indeed.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
Bottle at home in garden, 16th March 14. Smells pretty good, taste is fine, palate, too fizzy. OK to try, meantime beers are average these days
