COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle Conditioned. A perfect match for.. Shellfish, beef sausages & onion gravy, Lancashire hot pots or simply try with paté and warm toast. One of the great British styles "Mild" Originally meant a beer that hand’t aged. Today, as its name suggests, mild means lightly hopped and not bitter. Dark Milds get their rich colour from caramel and roasted malts and although relatively low in alcohol, are full in body with a lingering quality. Daniel Thwaites knows a think or two about brewing a great mild. Specially brews for M&S, the same craft and award-winning expertise has been used to create this lovely Lancashire mild for you.

Medium dark brown with a light red tint and a frothy creamy lasting, lacy dark beige head. Smells of malt, soft roast, caramel and brown sugar. Medium thin body with medium carbonation. Tastes very water with some sweet malt character, nut, chocolate and minimal hops on the finish. Mostly sweet. I found it boring to drink and it took me a while to finish it. I like mild but this is whatever.

Bottle conditioned. Dark brown/red beer with residual head. Faint roasted malt aroma. Taste is roasted malts, caramel and tangy boiled sweets. A little too thin and carnonated on the palate. An OK mild.

Bottle at home in London. Pours clear, red-brown with a small, receding tan head. Dark, doughy bread in the nose, dark sugars, some dark fruits. Light sweet flavor, some milky chocolate, light burnt malts, some dirt, dry raisins. Light bodied with average carbonation. Fairly sweet finish, dark toasted malts, light earthy bitterness. OK, but a little watery.

Bottle. Dark ruby with a thin tan head. First pour aromas are pleasant, roasty and nutty. Once it’s settling in the glass it’s hard to get that back. Some slight caramel in the nose with some roast. In the mouth, it’s a little oily but theres some more roasted notes, nuts, a little honey, some saltiness. Not too bad, but nothing stunning either.

Not much aroma or taste, but an excellent light textured body makes this worthy.
