I’m not sure why M&S have chilled this beer so much. My pint is very cold and pretty fizzy. On the plus side it’s got a good smoky flavour.

3.4 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20
500ml bottle - Dark brown with a reddish tint. Head frothy beige/white, going quickly as we speak. Nice aromas of coffee, smoke, roasted malts, caramel. Flavours of bitter chocolate, heavy on the coffee, caramel, burnt malts. Smoky, dry finish with doesn’t last long. Average body, with a feint carbonation. Not bad.

3 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 13/20
Bottle from M&S. Dark brown with orange tints. Mild aroma of sweet malts. Taste is a mix of bitterness, chocolate and dried fruits. It has a smokey aftertaste, that improves the beer. Overall a pretty average Baltic Porter. Its main downfall for me is the excessive carbonation, but then I am anti carbonation in general.

2.2 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Not much aroma - swimming pool? or is that just the glass, faintest hint of chocolate. Initially seems to taste only of a big slab of malt, some licorice in there but you have to look for it. Flavour seems to suddenly collapse. Like all porters it makes me feel bloated. I want to like this because I like Meantime’s other stuff, but I wouldn’t get this again.

Bottle. Deep red-brown with a barely-there tan head. Smells of treacle toffee, cinders and chocolate. In the mouth, theres plums, figs, raisins, toast, cream. It’s got a nice creamy body to it without any stickiness. Finish is sweet and smoky.

Mild sweet aroma, but much more tastier when drunk and sits well in the throat.

3.1 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
Dark Brown with a ruby tint with a fizzy than lasting head. Dry roast caramel, chocolate with a light biscut. Medium oily slightly grainny body. Taste of sweet caramel that has been lessened by a roast bitterness of malt. Tastes like a soft muffin with chocolate.
