500ml bottle. Dark orange-brown with off-white head. Aroma has roasted malt and caramel. Flavour is rich with malt, caramel, bread and coffee. Smooth bitter aftertaste.

500ml bottle purchased at Marks & Spencer in Paisley. Poured into a pint tumbler and sampled on the 25th December 2015. Clear garnet in colour with an off white head. Slight malt in the aroma with a note of chocolate powder. Thin insipid mouthfeel and no lacing. Mixed malt complex gives maltloaf base with notes of roast grain, toffee malt and dark chocolate. Dried hay note to the bitter aftertaste which rather spoils the malt. Finish is malty with a dry finish from the wheat which lingered far too long in the palate. A poor porter and very disappointing. Lacks strength body and complexity - tastes more like 3.8%, Better sticking with Orkney Dark Island than trying this guff stuff. SAB Miller - hang your heads in shame!

F: pale brown thin, quick gone. C: dark brown to dark red, clear. A: roasted malt, dried fruit, coffee, chocolate. T: 0,5l bottle, roasted malt, smoked tones, wood, dried fruits, mild bitterness, slick texture, medium body, average carbonated, watery but taste is better than expected as it is brewed for supermarkets chain, very drinkable.

Bottle from local MaS. Rich aroma with lots of dried fruits and a hint of roast. Clear dark brown colour, small head that disappears rather quickly. The taste reveals a beer full of goodness. Aaah I hope this stays the same even after the SAB Miller acquisition of Meantime. Classic representation of style, dried fruits combine harmonically with subtle roasty chocolate notes. Very easy drinking. Very good.

500ml bottle, drank straight from the bottles so canít comment in appearance. Aroma is caramel, Malta and burnt toast. Quite heavily carbonated. Apart from sweet caramel, not much in the taste with a stale finish.

Bottle - dark reddy brown with decent frothy tan head. Chocolate, coffee and slight vanilla aroma. Initial ting on tongue, but goes down well. Chocolate and roasted coffee tasting with dry finish - easily drinkable - enjoyed.

Nothing really exciting about this one. Brown in color. I can even see through it. Head is small and beige in color. Watery with streight forward burned malt flavor. More water and a bit of black chocolate but I might be a bit exaggerating. Itís an easy drink for those who need to quench their thirst and they hate clear beers.

Aroma: coffee, chocolate, citrus, lactose, caramel, roast; Taste: intense sourness, slight sweetness, slight bitterness; Palate: light body, watery texture, abrupt finish, average carbonation Smooth, a bit too sour and light bodied, could be improved.

Good porter aroma, but for a 5.5% beer, this tastes a bit thin. Not a bad porter, but not as strong as some of the other beers in the new range
