Bottle, used mostly to make a nice cottage pie. Pours clear reddish brown with a small tan head. Aroma of caramel, malts, dark fruits and wood. Flavor is moderate sweet and bitter. Medium bodied with light carbonation. Nice enough but a strange porter. Will have to wait and see how it turns out in the pie.

Bottle from Jim- cheers! Pours chestnut with a moderate beige head. Smoke, plums, treacle, gravy and cough mixture with a dry ashy aftertaste. Quite liked this one.

Bottle - Dark Red Brown in colour. Very Malty; dark chocolate, espresso coffee, roast malts, caramel, toffee, smoked malts. Some fruit sourness. Quite pronounced smokey taste. Sweet roast malty with drying finish. Very drinkable. Nice Porter!

Pleasant to drink, soft palate with chocolate and a dry, chalky nice aftertaste. The redness isn’t too pleasant, yet the head on it is long lasting. Bottle from the M&S store in the Kalverstraat, Amsterdam.

Bottle from M&S, Den Haag.... Yippee! M&S are back :-) Poured a clear reddish brown with a frothy white head. The aroma is a little smoky, light fruit, malt and some yeast. The flavour is medium bitter with a smooth smoky spiced, malt , light hop bitter palate with a short bitter finish. Medium bodied with average carbonation and a slightly oily mouthfeel. This was a very drinkable beer indeed. Very malty, nice and chewy. Deserves a higher rating IMO.

500ml bottle poured into a tulip glass. Opaque almost black ruby beer. Initial metallic taste soon dissipates. Cocoa and some milky sweetness. Decent bitterness.

Bottle, from Marks & Spencer. Deep red brown, big fluffy but quickly thinning off white head and gentle condition. Delicate fruity nose with a distinct musty woodiness, some figgy notes and a sweet maltiness. In the mouth there is an initial chocolate sweetness with a touch of fruitiness and a muted chalky bitterness, the mustiness returns with some hints of oxidation and woody notes, finish is fruity sweet with hints of chocolate and figs lingering
