4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 5/5 OVERALL 16/20
UPDATED: MAR 8, 2014 Pours a hazy golden colour with a good white head which retains and laces well. There is a lovely lemony, citrus hop aroma from this beer. The flavour is biscuit sweetness and lemony hops. This beer is medium sweet and medium bitter in harmony and has a very smooth velvety mouthfeel. An excellent IPA. My first taste of citra hops, this was thoroughly enjoyable.

500ml bottle from M&S. This is well worth a drink. Not tried it along side Oakham Citra or Citra special, so not sure how similar it is. Colour is golden with lacy white head. Aroma and taste have a big punch of grapefruit but this is well balanced. Well worth a try

4.2 AROMA 9/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 9/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
Bottle from M&S. I always love drinking Oakham Citra, especially when it is occasionally dressed in a different label and name. Lovely stuff.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 12/20
I like this beer. It’s an easy to get beer, and the aroma of gooseberries and citrus are nice, the taste is pretty well balanced with lots of citrus going on, with a nice malt background. However, I have a slight bone to pick here - this used to come in a pint bottle - now it comes in a 500ml bottle and I honestly think the recipe is different, the ’new’ version is more like a lager, especially with the clearer appearance and still mittelfruh hop like notes. It’s slightly more bready too compared to the pint bottle version. If anyone disagrees then please let me know!
It’s still a great beer though and worth popping into a railway station M&S for.

Pours clear, pale yellow. Almost no head. Loads of grapefruit on the nose and in the flavor. Not a lot else happening, flavor-wise. Dry finish, light body.

3.8 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
568ml bottle poured into a pint glass. Nice and clear and light beer with a small white lace. Aroma is full of citrus hop flavour, grapefruit, lychee, tangy and refreshing. Finish is very well balanced with a light crisp bitterness. Nothing too complex but excellent single hop beer, very good value too at 6 large bottles for a tenner.

Bottle from the Broadmead, Bristol branch as part of a 6 UK beers for £10 deal, which proved to be excellent value. Golden in colour, with a decent, off-white head. Big, grapefruit and tangerine fruits, crisp malts, grassy hops and a dryish finish. Enjoyable.

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
Bottle from Marks & Spencers, Oxford, purchased & consumed Saturday 31st May 2014 had this at Carol & Haydns Summer party. Really pleasant hoppy golden ale, the citra is very apparent along with a nice citrussy bite. Little furryness but great hoppiness. I had this alongside a bottle of the Oakham Citra this is 4.9% which is slightly stronger than the regular at 4.6%, this was the better beer. A7 A4 T8 P4 Ov15 3.8
