A light malty beer full of the distinctive flavour of citra hops with powerful grapefruit, lychee and gooseberry aromas.

Some citra coming threw, but falls short of the many other great offerings from both here in the UK and the US etc.

Pours clear golden with a finger of white head. Aroma of light fruit, citrus, pine, mild malt. Taste is mild sweet with a light bitter finish. Light and smooth body with soft carbonation.

My Bottom Line:
This elegant New World-style Pale Ale outlines generous citrus fruit and pineapple before easing into a refined grassy and herbal finish.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the sparkling golden clarity.
-Bitterness is present, but remains subtle enough. This one’s mostly about aroma and flavour.
-The soft effervescence and relative dryness make for great drinkability.
-Malts offer sturdy haystacks for the hops to bounce on.
-Simple but refined and extremely satisfying; normality or Oakham?

500ml bottle at home, from Marks & Spencer Simply Food, Central Station, Glasgow (bb 31 Mar 2017), malty, citrus hop aroma, straw with a lively thin white head, grapefruit, biscuit, harsh hoppiness, quite gassy, bitter hoppy finish.

500ml bottle from M&S. Good sized white head, nice lacing. Slightly hazy golden body. Grapefruit and gooseberry nose, a little muted. Flavour is grapefruit, biscuit, citrus zest, citrus bitterness on the aftertaste. Light carbonation, crisp mouthfeel, reasonable body. Good IPA.

UPDATED: JUL 22, 2016 Purchased from M&S store in Hong Kong. Standard IPA colour. Bubbles are not strong. Refreshing taste with attractive lychee and lemon aroma. The grapefruit aroma is not as powerful as expected. However, it is a good choice for a summer drink.

UPDATED: APR 16, 2016 Deep yellow with a thin head and a faint haze, and aromas of lemon and hibiscus. Grapefruit bitterness with more lemon notes. A little caramel and honeydew melon in the background. Very quaffable.

Flaske. Lysegul let orange med et fint skumhivrd. Duft af stale citrus og malt. Smagen er lidt gammel citrus. Drikbar men kuber være bedre frisk.

Aroma is fresh and definitely citrus-you can tell it’s those Citra hops. Hay bread and citrus notes prevail. Appearance is lively and quite carbonated (bottle) head stays well into the drink. Taste is light, bittersweet with second wave bitterness afterwards, good mouthfeel that satisfies. Palate has fruity top notes, with butterscotch and popcorn, thin..but with lemon & lychee...definitely getting the light fruit citrus taste of lychee. Taste is medium long and very satisfying. Although I am drinking in January-I can easily see this as perhaps the most satisfying summer ale I have experienced! Overall; incredibly refreshing and satisfying ale. One of the best I have tasted to be fair (which is a lot). So many ales promise so much and simply do not deliver. This ale is the exact opposite; ludicrously understated point of sale, massive satisfaction and taste! Seek this one out and fire across the bow of any "ale connoisseur" that you know!!

bottle from yeovil M&S, drunk boxing day
not as bright as I recall it being, rather muted on nose, medium bodied, low citrus notes, biscuity malt, a little disappointing tbh.
