2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 9/20
Bottle from Marks and Spencer, Enniskillen
Dark amber, clear, bubbly frothy white head, some lacing
Aroma of soft sweet caramel malts, dab of sweet toffee, bit of custard, sweet honey caramel
Taste of caramel, sweet toffee, sweet honey caramel, little hops in this, something odd in here, slight plastic note, custardy caramel, maybe a hint of bitter hops. Not keen on the flavour.
Palate - Soft carb, medium body, sweet. Finish of sweet caramel toffee found in a chocolate
Overall - No showcase for the hops, too malty. Disappointing.

2.9 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 12/20
500ml bottle: BBD 09/2015. Drank at my parents house in 03/2015, cheers Dad. As the name suggests this is a golden coloured beer, the head white. Floral hop notes in the nose and a mild bitterness in the taste, the malty base gives the brew a semi-sweet balance which I found just about right. Pleasant enough all round, if a little unchallenging for the senses.

2.4 AROMA 4/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Clear gold. Filmy, white head. Unusual aroma, something like raspberry ripple ice cream. Quite floral, with an extra edge, something along the lines of bay. The taste follows a similiar route. It’s light dry and light bitter, with just too much sweetness. Creamy palate. Finish is light dry and short bitter. An oddity. Not one I’d have again. Edit: just as I finish this I see the label states honey flavouring as an ingredient! I wouldn’t have bought this if I’d spotted it. Marks adjusts accordingly.
