Bottle. Golden with a thin head. Aromas are caramel and honey with leafy, earthy notes and blackberries. Floral with cookie dough and brown sugar. Flavours are sweet caramel and biscuit with stewed apple and honey. Earthy and lightly fruity with bitter lemon on the finish. Decent.

Clear gold. Filmy, white head. Unusual aroma, something like raspberry ripple ice cream. Quite floral, with an extra edge, something along the lines of bay. The taste follows a similiar route. It’s light dry and light bitter, with just too much sweetness. Creamy palate. Finish is light dry and short bitter. An oddity. Not one I’d have again. Edit: just as I finish this I see the label states honey flavouring as an ingredient! I wouldn’t have bought this if I’d spotted it. Marks adjusts accordingly.

downender (6200) - Bristol, Gloucestershire, ENGLAND - JUN 20, 2014
Bottle from the Broadmead, Bristol branch as part of a 6 UK beers for £10 deal, which proved to be excellent value. Deep gold with a decent, white, head. Easy drinking beer, with a touch of citrus fruit, crisp, cereal, malts and pleasantly bitter finish. Good.

Bottle. Pours deep golden with an off-white head. Aroma of malt, some fruitiness, caramel, butter and honey. Flavor is sweet and malty with some floral notes, vanilla, caramel and fruitiness. Medium body, soft carbonation.

Bottle. A lightly hazy dark golden beer with a small, dense, white head leaving some lacings. The aroma is herbal and grassy, with a faint cheesy touch. Some peppery notes too. Some sweetness in the mouth, honey-notes and flowers, butterscotch hints, grass and a little bitterness. Medium to full body, soft carbonation. Pretty decent this one, but quite far from impressive. 140608

Bottle. Amber-gold with a thin frothy head. Lightly fruit hopped, seems to be some orange amongst the floral notes. Quite tasty.

Bottled, 568ml from M&S in Banbury. Gold to amber with gushing white head. It took a while to pour as it was so lively but when it settled it proved to be quite light on the palate. There is a floral, quite herby hop note to it, a touch of Thyme and Basil perhaps along with a honeyed sweetness. Reasonable enough and remained fresh through the pint.

rauchbier (3598) - Isle Of Beer, Lincolnshire, ENGLAND - JAN 20, 2014
Bottle, from Marks & Spencer. Gold, thin short lived white head and gentle condition. Delicate sweet grain, some low fruitiness and a floral hop resin note, quite oily mouth feel with an insistent hop bitterness, some fruity berry notes and a touch of spiciness. Finish has a lingering spicy hop bitterness and gentle malty sweetness.

Deep Orangey Gold in colour. Malty; lots of honey and vanilla, sweet malts, caramel. Fruity; orange citrus. Hoppy; floral and earthy hop. The honey rather overwhelms the beer. Sweet honey malty and fruity throughout; becoming bittersweet in the finish. Rather odd; a single variety hop beer with honey. Drinkable.

500ml bottle at home. Gold with a slim white lid. Floral honey aroma. Mal had a bottle with me, and we agreed that marzipan was the predominant flavour. Some set honey and underlying nuts. Creamy mouthfeel. We both enjoyed this one, and agreed to revisit sometime.
