Dark amber colour with a lasting off-white head. Strawberry, blackberry, roast coffee porter smell. Chocolate caramel malt. Rich sweet caramel, coffee chocolate start with a strange sharp chemical bitter finish. Has elements of being a really great dark ale but loses it in the finish. The pasturisation ruined it. Nonetheless good.

Bottle. Pours a dark amber color with a small longlasting off-white head. Has a fruity malty caramel aroma with hoppy hints. Fruity malty bitter caramel flavor. Has a fruity malty caramel finish with weak hoppy hints.

Nice malty nose, with hints of spice. Full bodied, packed with rich malt & spice flavours, smooth mouthfeel makes it dangerously drinkable. The finish is long lasting but is spoiled a bit by the high ABV which creeps in and throws it off balance! Not too bad tho!

clear dark brown with tan head . malty aroma . sweet taste to start with a bitter finish . something odd in the taste that I can’t describe . unpleasant aftertaste lingering in mouth . A real let down

330ml, M&S. Roast aroma. Dark body, thin lacing. Woody tasting, alcohol overbearing - could have done with some more of a fruity taste. Disappointing.

Bottle from Marks & Spencer. Amber colour, off-white head. Nose is burned sugar, ash, bit of fruits. Flavour is caramel, lots of sigarette ash, some fruits. Harsh and dry finish. Barely drinkable.

Dark ruby/toffee colored pour. A couple whitish bubbles rise to the top, but there is no head. No lacing. Rotten malt smell, with a bunch of sour metallic-ness. Taste is on par with the aroma. Not good.
