500 ml bottle bought at M&S in iSquare, Tsim Sha Tsui.

Clear golden honey colour with thin traces of yeast sediments; One -quarter finger head with crumpety white foam which lasts for 90 seconds; Excellent sticky lacing and fairly fizzy carbonation; Fragrant aroma of Ale malt, with strong marmalade, tangerine, strong honey, floral, lime and strong sharp grass; Close to light sweet taste of light Ale malt, with grapefruit zest, light orange, strong herbs, molasses notes, thin resins, earth, yeast, spices, lemon, fairly strong bitter hops and sharp grass; Close to light body. Slightly slick palate; Mouth feel is light Ale maltyness in thin body. Light marmalade, citrusy and very herbal hops dominates, with minimal sweetness. Taste like a fairly good mix of Challenger, Brewer’s Gold and perhaps Bullion. Pretty good!... Hoppiness is strong marmalade, tangerine, strong honey, floral, lime and strong sharp grass in nose. Grapefruit zest, orange, light resin, strong herbs, earth and spice in taste; Bitterness is moderate to strong for a lasting, mid-astringent grassy finish; Fairly dry after taste. Herbal and grassy bitter to mouth.

Comments: This one tastes basic, with very subdued citrus and resins, but the Challenger’s fragrant jam and citrus aroma really got my attention, if only it has an equally impressive hoppy taste. A herbal tea masqueraded as Golden Ale. Drinkable.
