Bottle from Tbone, thanks! Melon, grapefruit, white pepper and peppermint in aroma and flavor. Oily earthy floral bitterness. Hint of licorice. Atypical IPA.

1.7 AROMA 2/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 3/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 7/20 Thom_Rafter (11) - FINLAND - MAR 16, 2012
Bottle 330ml. Light golden color, quickly disappearing soapy head. Aroma is equally disappointing as are all other elements, some citrus and hay. Flavor is almost repulsive, very bitter, almost caustic. Palate is short and moldy.
They have obviously targetted relatively high EBU with too little of aroma hops. But why on earth did they use pilsner malts with IPA?
Certainly no marsalkka (field marshal) would drink this acidic pass water.
2.4 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 4/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 tlind2 (840) - Helsinki, FINLAND - MAR 15, 2012
Bottle. Slightly cloudy golden color, white head. Fairly light flavor with a long, bitter finish. Metallic notes and grapefruit. Medium body, medium-light carbonation. Not my kind of IPA, and even in its own niche it lacks depth.
3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 MikeKeller (423) - Kemi Rock City, FINLAND - MAR 14, 2012
Bottle from Alko. Saimaan Juomatehdas’ Marsalkka IPA is a brave effort from a brewery formerly made mainly lager or modest porters at best. In it’s modesty it fails to be a really truly enjoyable India Pale Ale but still quite good take on Brittish style IPA.
3 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20 tiong (1306) - Espoo, FINLAND - FEB 26, 2012
330ml bottle from Alko
Pours clear light orange with a tiny white head. Aroma of lemon, citrusy hops, butter and hay. Taste is quite malty with some notes of hay, grassy hops, butter, honey and metal. Finish is bitter and floral with notes of bready malts. A bit unbalanced IPA.
3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 14/20 welho (64) - FINLAND - FEB 25, 2012
330 ml bottle. Tiny white head that dissolves fast. Lots of hops in the aroma, little citrus with hoppy finish in taste. Works quite nicely to me.
2.9 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 2/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 12/20 mikkopen (522) - Oulu, FINLAND - FEB 22, 2012
330 ml bottle. Pale golden colour, thin and quickly dissipating white head. Sweetish, citrus-fruity, hoppy aroma. The flavour is malty, with notes of citrus fruits, and a lingering, bitter, grassy-hoppy finish. A little flat and watery on the palate. Not bad, but needs more malt backbone to be really enjoyable.
