COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Atlas India Pale Ale is an ale with strength and character worthy of its name. Pale and caramel maltings of American two-row barley give Atlas IPA a malty backbone to support its noticeable, but not overpowering, hoppy flavor and aroma. Columbus, Amarillo, and Cascade hops are harmoniously blended together, bringing about floral and earthy tones which highlight this bold but delicious ale.

Bottle. A decently hoppy aroma with a bit of grass clippings to it. Taste is pretty much similar. A crisp IPA taste, nothing fancy about it, just a run of the mill solid pale ale. The bite at the end is more subdued that a lot of other IPAs and it benefits from that. Overall a tasty beer. 6.5% alcohol.

(tap) nice copper with off white head. Mild citrus aroma. Flavor was caramel malt, some citrus hops. Would’ve liked more hops.

Pours from the bottle a hazy orange with a light, off-white head. Moderate lacing. Smells of hops and citrus. Hops, malt and pine with a bit of a bitter finish. Nice mouth. This is well-balance and not as hoppy as a lot of IPAs. I like it a lot, and perfect for those times I just want a nice beer. Between Marshall, Prairie Artisan, Coop and others, I’m impressed with a lot of the beers Oklahoma breweries are putting out.

Clear copper with a thin white cap head. The aroma is a bit odd. Funky old stale earthy hops, a touch floral, and soil-y nutty. Taste is a bit stale and hoppy without any sweetness. Lots of oily bitterness and soiled malts.

Draught at the Tapwerks Bricktown, Oklahoma City, OK.
Clear amber colour with a small off-white head. Moderate bitterness, hops and candies in the aroma and in the flavour. Easy for an IPA.

UPDATED: MAR 16, 2014 12 oz Bottle. The beer pours to a dark amber/Red color with a small white head. The aroma has a resin aroma with a caramel scent to it. The taste is a medium body with a smooth finish. Overall a good IPA.

Bottle from Jimmy as an extra. Pours a merky brown to dark golden, very thin tan head. Aroma is malty and stale with some roasted malt going on. Taste is fade IPA, malty, coffee grounds, some caramel, slightly sweet but more barleywine.

Bottle as a trade extra. Pours rich clear amber with a medium creamy off-white head. Aroma is grass, pine and caramel. Flavor is about the same, light plus sweet, light bitter with bitterness increasing somewhat in the far finish. Not a lot of hop character here, more just bitterness. Light body, but a creamy mouthfeel. Not terrible, but certainly not a standout in the class.
