Decent porter.....nice aroma of roasted malt, coffee and dark caramel with a hint of dark chocolate and hops. Flavor is smooth with a balanced blend of roasted malt, coffee, hops and a lingering bittersweet finish. Mouthfeel is smooth and creamy. Probably the best that Marshall has put out yet!

3.8 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 16/20
12 oz Bottle. The beer pours black in color with a very thin tan head. The aroma has coffee, toffee, roasted, little licorice. The taste was slightly sweet upfront followed by little bitter finish. Overall a good porter.

3.6 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 15/20
Pours a dark brown from the bottle with a small foamy head that dissipates reasonable quickly. Aroma is chocolate with coffee. Chocolate, coffee and malt are pretty balance, with only a bit of bitterness. Medium mouth with a decent amount of carbonation. Not a bad porter at all.

3.4 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 10/20
Aroma of chocolate and toasted malt. Pours a dark brownish black with a none lasting tan head and minimum lacing. The taste is chocolate, malts with a slight bitter coffee ground-like bitterness in the finish. Medium body with medium carbonation. Smooth mouthfeel. Overall, a very respectable porter.

3.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 17/20
Dark beer out of the bottle with a foamy tan head. Nose of dusty chocolate and grains. The flavor continues the dusty chocolate theme with dark brown sugar sweetness, some charcoal and ash. Nice chalky finish.

3.9 AROMA 8/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 8/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 15/20
A - Black with dark brown edges. 2 finger creamy mocha head. Thick sheets of lacing all the way down the glass.
S - Chocolate, roasted malts, marshmallow, toasted toffee, graham cracker,
T - Decadent chocolate, dry roasted coffee beans, anise, sweet but earthy black malt. Hints of dry fig and raisin. Has a vanilla bean sweetness in the middle but finishes dry.
M - Low carbonation, velvety and creamy.
This is my favorite porter of all time. It is full, rich, and delivers tons of flavor. I wish this was a year round release.

3 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 4/5 TASTE 6/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 13/20
Pours a small head, smell is not very appetizing. Tastes fine, I think itís more medium-bodied than full, easy to drink. I definitely taste toffee more than anything else. OK as far as porters go.

2.6 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottled. Poured medium brown with a huge head of dense beige head. The aroma picked up toasty coffee, nutty notes, and fruity notes with an airy, degergenty hint of possible infection. The flavor found metallic and medicinal notes throughout, with toasted cocoa and lesser coffee deep down (but you have to go a ways down).. more cocoa, some vanilla, and medicinal notes on the finish. Medium-bodied, but with colossal, filling carbonation on the palate.. sour and funky, but there were definitely some tasty malts in there.. Iíd like to try a super-fresh sample sometime.

3.5 AROMA 7/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 4/5 OVERALL 14/20
Thanks to a great OK trader for this tasty bottle. It pourted a wee gusher, leaving a root beer float, thatís how heavy the head was. Nice nose, strongly roasty but with some tart fruit and especially choc in there. Lively mouthfeel but not lacking in substance. Pretty solid roasty beast throughout.
