COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The Loco Gringo Series — El CuCuy India-Style Black Ale
In Latin American cultures, El Cucuy is an imaginary creature of the dark, similar to the boogeyman, which haunts the minds of children and adults alike. El Cucuy India-style Black Ale features dark roasted notes that sneak up on the subdued caramel malt backbone and the irresistible bitterness creating a harmonious and frighteningly delicious balance. But beware, this beer is dry-hopped providing an intensely vibrant floral and citrusy aroma and at 8.6% abv is not a monster to be carelessly dealt with. Be good or the Cucuy will get you!

Black color with brown rim; medium sized compact head. The aroma is very hoppy, pungent, resiny, piney; really wonderful. Lean body; it starts with a mix of roasted malt and dark chocolate, then resiny hops bitterness, finally. Long roasty final.
Very good, unbalanced nevertheless.

Bottle shared by alexsdad06. Poured clear black color with an average frothy off-white head that lasted and produced fair lacing. Moderate to heavy complex toasted malt and hop & alcohol aroma. Medium body with a dry smooth texture and flat carbonation. Medium to heavy toasted bittersweet flavor with a medium to heavy bittersweet finish of moderate to long duration. This is a very good beer.

22oz bottle thanks to unclemike: pours a mostly opaque black with a stringy-lacing light tan head. Has a lightly sweet dark caramel malty nose with lots of fresh resiny hops. Starts with good fullness and sweet dark malts with a healthy amount of crisp piny bittering and flavor hops before a drier bittersweet finish with lingering hop notes. Well balanced and flavorful.
