COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
* McNELLIE’S PUB ALE Inspired by the house ales found in the pubs of Great Britain and Ireland, McNellie’s Pub Ale is a traditional ale brewed in the style of a Best Bitter. Various maltings of two-row barley are joined with American Glacier hops to give this beer its color, complexity, and a bit of a New World twist. The Old World character present in this ale is largely influenced by its yeast, which originates in the port city of Hull, East Yorkshire, England.

Bottle: Pours a muddy caramel orange color with a small beige head. Faint aroma is seemingly faded florals... taste is rather mild too. Ever so slight floral bitters and modest citrus. Light bready malt. The theme here is mild...

Pours a murky brownish orange with a quickly diminishing head. Looks kinda gross actually. The aroma has some hops but majority is malts. Taste is malty sweet in the front and bitter at the end. Oily texture.

Pours a darkened amber color, a nice, heavy wood tone. Quite cloudy. I can just see the shadows of my fingers through the full glass. The head is cream-colored and creamy. It’s a medium-thick blanket of foam that sticks on top of the beer for a good long time. Solid lacing. A doughy, rich malt flavor comes out as the strongest note in the aroma. There’s also a good dose of caramel and some light, earthy hops. The hops make a stronger showing in the taste with a gentle bitterness and a mix of floral, earthy and grassy flavors with a touch of citrus peel. The beer is drier than expected, which is a pleasant surprise. It has a clean, rich malt character that steps aside to let the hops balance things out. Very easy to drink. Relatively low carbonation. Smooth, creamy feel. It manages to hit a rather British-y balance, which is generally hard to find among American takes on British ales. Good stuff.

Murky amber color with a quickly disappearing off white head. Light nose with some green hop notes. This is a fruity ale with apple, grassy hops, some pine and grapefruit. Long bitter finish. This is a nice full flavored session beer.

12oz bottle in a stem glass. Pours cloudy copper with a lacy, cream-colored head. Aroma of caramel and pale malts plus some light, floral hops. Flavor the same, with a nice maltiness. Average texture. A pretty good beer for the style.

12oz bottle pours a hazy garnet amber with some wispy, white head. Nose of malt, crackers, bread crust, yeast, some light orange zest. Flavor is very similar, mostly malt, bread, cracker, biscuit, some light orange. Clean finish. No surprises here, but well made.

A - Slightly brown amber color, 1 finger white head. Nice retention with spotted lacing throughout. S - Toasted caramel, rich malt, dusty muted fruit, T - Smooth bready malt with toffee note swimming throughout, earthy... and I mean earthy hops swim over the palate, a flirty sweetness plays with the creamy body. Hints of subtle fruit add acidity. The hops start earthy and perk up perfectly for the finale. An incredibly silky feel. This beer is bursting with character, like it has a story to tell. Sampled from the tap at rePUBlic. Pours a clear amber orange with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a combination of nuttiness and a bit of smoke and backing earthy grains. Flavor has notes of earthy grains and nuts but finish has a bit of a monkey note. A bit odd.

Into a snifter. Thin head, deep copper colored body. Rich smell of caramel, fresh bread and grain. Rich taste as well. Caramel, mildly bitter with a malt backbone. Sticky feeling, medium body with low carbonation. A genuine good beer. The smell is outstanding and it has a great taste to follow.
