2.8 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
Sampled from the tap at rePUBlic. Pours a clear amber orange with a near white head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a combination of nuttiness and a bit of smoke and backing earthy grains. Flavor has notes of earthy grains and nuts but finish has a bit of a monkey note. A bit odd.

Into a snifter. Thin head, deep copper colored body.
Rich smell of caramel, fresh bread and grain.
Rich taste as well. Caramel, mildly bitter with a malt backbone.
Sticky feeling, medium body with low carbonation.
A genuine good beer. The smell is outstanding and it has a great taste to follow.

2.5 AROMA 5/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 2/5 OVERALL 10/20
Bottle. Aroma of malts and caramel. But there’s something kinda funky about the aroma, not sure what. Floral taste with malts and hops, some chalkiness to it and a watery mouthfeel. Pretty decent overall. 5% alcohol.

3.2 AROMA 6/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 7/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 13/20
Marshall McNellie’s Pub Ale - Pours copper with smallish head and minor lacing. Fresh, mild aroma of bready malts and slight fruit. Some caramel malts, fresh wheat bread crust, and a tiny bit of hops in the flavor. Finish is clean and light as is to be expected in the Bitter style, and a bit dry. Good refreshing beer - very easy to drink and session. Comparable to Goose Island’s Honkers Ale.
