COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Old Pavilion Pilsner was inspired by Brewmaster Eric Marshall’s time as an apprentice brewer in Germany. Crisp and clean with a distinct and pleasurable hop flavor and aroma, Old Pavilion Pilsner is brewed in the North German “Pils” style. Brewed with American malts, a mixture of American and German hops, and fermented with a German strain of bottom-fermenting lager yeast, this beer is crafted with a deep reverence for one of the world’s most successful beer styles..

GABF 2011. Clear light gold with a frothy white head. Strong aroma of pilsner malt and subtle saaz. Tastes much the same. Tastes much like any average pilsner. Low body, some herbalness, faintly bitter.

Draft at GABF. Pours a very attractive clear gold with a nice ring of foam. Nose is spicy, firm noble hops and then a burst of pils malt. Really clean and fresh. Hops are distinguishable and nicely balanced with the malt. On tasting, the bitterness is spot on, somewhat sharp and holding the full malt profile in check. Really clean and fresh. Refreshing. Excellent pils.

Hazy copper-blonde pour into thick fizzy head that quickly dissipates into melting lacing and a ring of swirling foam. Aroma of yeasty biscuit and toasty malt. Initial flavor of malty sweetness that fades into bitter hoppy finish.

Somewhat dark gold, slightly hazy. Low head formation apparently caused by low carbonation (few bubbles rising up glass). Spicy, doughy pilsner aroma, a little on the malty side for me. Immediately apparent hoppiness in body, clean and slightly dusty malts, almost bracingly bitter with some varied and almost juicy hop flavor. Finish continues the hoppy churn, very American hops presence. Very "not to style" hop profile, but it’s good. Could use some balancing with more aroma and a bit less hops flavor (I like the bitter assault).
