An American wheat beer with a Belgian inspiration, Sundown Wheat aims to blend the best of two worlds. This refreshingly light beer is brewed with American wheat, two-row barley, and a touch of flaked oats. It is delicately hopped with American Sterling hops and spiced in the tradition of Belgian wit beers, using coriander and dried sweet orange peel.

This was a very appealing clear golden color with a light orange hue to it. Very nice for an americanized wheat beer. The color of an autumn sunset in a glass. It had a minimal head and almost no lacing. Light sweet malts mingle with earthy hoppiness. There are cirus and floral scents peeking through. I’m sure that these would be more pronounced at a warmer temp. Bright citrus flavors hit first. Orange and lemon dominating. Mixed in with a bit of sweet malt flavor and some light hops for just a tiny bite of bitterness. It’s a nice balance. In the mouth it is light and crisp. Nice and very refreshing. Mild carbonation. This is very easy to drink and will make a great summer quencher. I plan to drink many of these in the future.

From the bottle this poured nice amber orange tone with two finger off white head, lingers somewhat. Mild syrupy aroma of banana, caramel, grassy and damp grain and some spices. Nice full bodied wheat beer.

UPDATED: JUN 24, 2012 On tap in a shaker. Pours a pale golden, quite hazy with minimal head. Spicy lemon nose with coriander. Taste is lots of subtle spices, lemon peel. Palate is fizzy and crisp. Overall a pleasant, standard wheat.

Draft. Aroma is sweet and pleasant, with a hint of citrus. Nice wheat flavor, with more hints of citrus. Nice malt flavors blend in very well. Smooth and low carbonation, with a nice consistency. Good session beer. Very nice selection.

enjoyed this quite a hot in the sunny Houston afternoon .. . hazy dark yellow.. . some nice spices in this one, and a good example of the style.. well liked around the patio table .. Listerine hurts, man, when I put Listerine in my mouth, I’m fuckin’ angry. Germs do not go quietly.

Pours a hazy very pale yellow with a medium white head...looks like lemonade. Aroma is notably wheaty and earthy with a light fruitiness that reminds me of kiwi and orange. Flavor is also notably wheaty with nice very subtle spiciness...coriander. Mouthfeel is light and very lively yet creamy with a wheaty, slightly dry finish.

Nothing spectacular here, but a decent, easily quaff-able session beer. A bit of orange peel and other citrus flavors, some dirt, and a watery aftertaste.

Bottle from 2013 Secret Santa. Glad my bottle didn’t have the sweet wax job like the photo. Pretty nice wheat ale over all. Good touch of hops and lots of nice orange and citrus flavors. Tasty.

Poured a dark copper color with an almost two finger tall white head that provided streaks of lacing. The aroma was mild citrus and some very light, almost perfumy floral notes. Yeast and malt were constrained and the wheat was almost hard to find. The flavors were mostly light citrus and wheat. Some very light hops seemed present again in an almost perfumy way. Mouthfeel was average, carbonation was almost a bit light.

Bottle courtesy of soonah. Pours copper with a thin white head. Smells of ginger and citrus. Tastes of wheat, ginger, tarte, some earthiness, pepper. Decent.
