Elwood (1979) - Leesburg, USA - JUN 26, 2010
Serving: Draft from the Great Lost Bear
It pours a deep amber orange color with no head at all. This brew was under the IPA list, but I wonder if it is a IIPA. The nose is light with some rancid citrus notes and a little bit of odd fruitiness. A bit dank too from both herbal hops and a bit of chronic. The taste highlights the herbal, earthy hops which reminds me of a Brew Dog beer. There are notes of dirt, a little nuts from the malt, and something I can’t quite place. I won’t say this exactly blends together well as I am left a bit confused. It’s not bad, just kind of weird. Medium bodied with average carbonation and a medium to long, bitter finish. I would say it is certainly an odd IPA and lacking hops if it’s a IIPA.
