Woah deep molasses and cloyingly potent opaque black pour and mocha head leave for a nice finisher. A pined dryingly bitter beginning graduates to a lingeringly sweetened caramel vanilla finish that dwells on the palate. A very nice symphony of flavors that mingle well together in a powerfully potent brew that is simply wonderful. a great quaff from the brewery and certainly worth a try, albeit at the end of the night as it could be quite a crusher.

My Bottom Line:
This stern Imperial Stout delivers molasses and chocolate malt flavors atop menthol and alcohol lengths, leading to fruity and almost tart leanings.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A veil of foam covers the brown-tinged black.
-There is not enough sustenance in the body (for the style, of course).
-The flavor profile is somewhat balanced, although the grassy, coniferous hops could peer through more prominently.
-Is there oatmeal in here or are the cereal flavors coming from the base malts?

On tap at Novare Res.

rather large glass poured from the bar tender at Three Tides, I did have to tell him I rather not have the glass chilled. It had a gorgeous coco, almost black colored head that went to a thin lace. The body of the brew was a black as night no light coming thru at all. The aromas and flavors were big in the espresso department and the roasted malts were king for sure. I would say the queen was the alcohol, big heat in the nose and aroma. I was told it was brewed in the late fall but I still think it is a bit young. The mouthfeel was medium with average carbonation. This brew is a big ass brew so one is enough for me in one sitting this brew has potential I wish I had a bottle to age

on tap-pours a tan ring for a head that quickly disappears and black color. Aroma is dark malt-roasty, earthy. Taste is dark fruit-raisin, dark malt-roasty/chocolate, earthy, nail polish/varnish/acidity over powere throughout, alcohol.

On tap at Novare Res. Good GOD! Pours jet black. Head is dark tan. Aroma is malt and tons of it. Sweet malt up the wazoo! There’s booze in the nose too. The flavor is dark chocolate bitter, tons of roasted malt, black patent malt, and alcohol. There’s no hiding the booze in this one. The most serious stout made in Maine!
