Go this on tap at Mane Liquour. It had no head at all, but looked and smelt great. It was very very sticky, left a residue on my lips which was strange. Very sweet. Good for after dinner in winter.

Growler from Mane Liquor. Pours murky amber with little to no head. Nose is thick toffee and pungent sultanas and raisins. Sweet vanilla and booze behind it all. Candy sugar is quite forward. Taste is very sticky and sweet. Huge hit of toffee and and sugar. Very malt driven with an odd strawberry and fig jam note behind it all. Hop resin on the finish with a low level of carbonation and bitterness. Bit too sweet and cloying for my liking

Draught at Craft. Dark red colour with small tan head. Aroma is dark fruits, bit of cat pee hops, bit jammy, and a bit medicinal. Taste is quite spiky, slight bitterness and quite full on herbal element. Touch of cough medicine. Bit of a strange one.

On tap at the Craft. Opaque dark red beer with a small off white head. Smooth palate with fine prickly carbonation. This one has some body! Sweet malt, slightly syrupy. Robust malt without roast or bitterness. A distinctly strawberry note underneath. All in great balance with piney hops. Blackcurrant note towards the finish which is smooth and semi dry. Mild aniseed alcohol. Interesting beer, not had anything quite like it!

Draught at Cask Pub and Kitchen, London. Near black, minimal head. Heavy treacle and caramel aroma. Super sweet and mega-sticky with flavours of butter, fudge and sugar. The massive sweetness in combination with the excessive alcohol creates a highly unpleasant burning sensation, like saccharine sweetener and diesel. Zero drinkability, no enjoyment.

UPDATED: NOV 4, 2012 Keg at CPK, London. Pours opaque brown with a fine, light beige head. Slight aged malts in the nose, lots of toffee and dark, toasty sugars. Flavor is hugely sweet, lots of caramel, sugar-coated leaves, cake, toast, toffee, pine, ripe citrus. Full bodied with fine to average carbonation. Warm finish, sticky sweet, tons of malty caramel, some dark fruits, raisins and figs, faint bitterness, grapes, candy, brown sugar. Heavy-handed stuff, really sweet, and I like it. (4.3)

Keg at CBC - Clerkenwell, London. Somebody shared a bit with me. Pours dark red with a fine, creamy head. Rich caramel malts, piney hops, moderate alcohol. Full bodied with fine carbonation. Finishes with toast, hints of berries and faint cocoa. Very nice (3.7)
