On tap @ Beer Temple (from notes): Color is ruby red to brown. Beige head, not much. Aroma’s of sweet red fruit (notably strawberry, also some raspberry). Flavor is sweet with like strawberries with chocolate, syruppy. Finishes with a firm bitterness and some spices.

Tap. Deep brown color with a modest off-white head. The nose is sugary - some plums, dates, spices. The taste is nicely bitter sweet, some ashen bitterness combines with the dark fruits. The body’s full, alcohol is hidden, but not completely obscured. Overall, quite good.

22nd September 2011 On tap at Bier Temple, Amsterdam. Opaque very dark brown beer, big vibrant tan head. Lacto malt nose. Light palate, smooth and slightly soft. Mild minerals. Lots of sweetish malt with a trace of burned toffee and a sprinkling of nuts. More milky sweet rich malt leads to a smooth finish. We joined up and tasty.

Tap @ Beer Temple. Pours black with some ruby tones with nice tanned head leaving lace. Aoma is port wine, raisins, dark fruits, madeira, malty and sweet. Flavor is velvety fullbodied like aroma. Sooo good. Finishes sweet fruity and pleasantly tart bitter.

On tap at Beer Temple as Old Ale. Almost black, beige head. Aroma is sweet, spicy, very sweet chocolate, laurel. Flavour is very sweet, chocolate, liquorice, spices, laurel, roasted malts. Medium to fullbodied. Somewhere between a doppelbock and baltic porter imo. A bit too sweet, but tasty.

Drought @ Beer Temple, Amsterdam. Dark brown pour, thin creamy tan head. Aroma is spicy, with quite some American hops and roasted malts. Nice balance between the bitterness of the hops and the sweetness of the malts. Nice brew.
