Tap at MW/TTR. Pours a deep clear amber/brown with a thinning head. Aroma is smoke- peat, but not overkill, toast, nutty and light chocolate with earthy hops. Flavor is nutty mod sweet, peat smoke and ash, burnt toast, lots of caramel sweetness for balance and earthy leafy hop bitterness. Ok.

My Bottom Line:
Almond skins, peat smoke and caramel coalesce into this Brown Ale’s comfortable mouthfeel as sturdy earthy hop bitterness and light fruit esters add even more complexity.

Further Personal Perceptions:
-A sheet of foam covers the dark brown.
-Looks like they tried to serve it on nitro...and I must say it worked!
-Complex Brown Ales are rare, as they are usually mailed in for some reason. This one branches out and offers a lot more than the ubiquitous example of the style.
-The nutty malt character also emulates roasted chestnuts.
-The flavor profile is generous and balanced.

On tap at Three Tides.

on tap-pours a light tan head and deep red color. Aroma is sweet medium malt with a sharpness. Taste is chocolate/peat, sweet medium malt with a sharpness-fruity. Towards medium body.
