Cask: Special - Wetherspoon 2013 Spring Festival
This is a Czech interpretation of an ale Ė pale in colour, with a good balance of malt and hops in the aroma, leading to a balanced flavour, with a moderate bitterness and crisp, lasting finish.

[Cask at Back of Beyond (JDW), Reading] Amber-gold with small white head. Good mouthfeel. Grassy, herby, hoppy continental hops are evident. In fact itís quite a reasonably well-hopped beer with a good balance. A little dry in the fihish. The big problem for me here is that Iím not a big fan of continental hops & I donít especially want them in a UK- style bitter. Sorry. But itís probably a good lager to bitter transition beer for those who need such things.

Cask at bridge house, Belfast. Golden blonde. Interesting nose of redcurrants, it starts well but after a few sips becomes slightly cloying honey and srawberries with a lingering finish. Fairly thin, but lifted by carbonation.

Overall - Nope

Cask conditioned at a Wetherspoons. Gold with white head. Thin, somewhat perfumed beer, reasonably bitter but just lacks any depth.
