   AROMA 5/10   APPEARANCE 3/5   TASTE 5/10   PALATE 3/5   OVERALL 10/20
UXO (346) - CANADA - NOV 24, 2014
Pours clear straw with a thin one finger of white head diminishing rapidly to a thin skim, no lacing. (3/5) Nose is biscuity pale malt, faint stone fruit, grassy hops. (5/10) Taste is moderate sweet, mild bitter. (5/10) Light body, low carbonation, off-dry mild bitter finish. (3/5) Well, if that’s the “Official beer of England”, you have my deepest sympathy. I guess it’s not bad, as such, but it’s little more than fizzy yellow water. Sessionable, sure, but so’s tap water. Fine as a thirst quencher, I guess, or if you’re the DD.(10/20)

This is a light ale , pours yellow straw color with some white foaming, little carbonation, not flat but just not very lively, some floral note, smooth texture, with a slight hop finish, nothing special.

Pale golden pour. The nose is fairly spicy and a little bit fruity with some nice clean malt on the back. A little bit of soft crackery flavour. There is a little bit of soft fruit and a light hoppiness on the back. Pretty light but tasty.

Bottle, shared with TylerDurden. Light/medium golden body, average white head that retains as a thin film. Pleasant pale biscuit malts and an earthy, leafy hop character with low bitterness combine to make a refreshing mild ale. Nothing outstanding here, except to say that I could drink this beer all night-- a great session mild.

Pours clear gold with a small white wisp. Aroma is light grain and earthy hop. Taste is watery, light grains and a hint of earthy hop.

Well if this ain’t just the surprise of the night. Second bottle pulled from LCBO mixer 6 pack turns out to be a pretty serious winner. The 3.6% is a refreshing come down from the 13% imperial stout I had earlier. And the best thing is that this is a full flavoured sessionable brew. It is a swirl of light pepper, squeezed citrus & an almost lite farm house funkiness. Really surprised to see how good this is. Would have again.

Milton LCBO Outlet #1 (Milton, Ontario, Canada) November 8, 2014
Part of the Marston’s PLC 6 pack. The beer pours a medium gold colour with a generous white head which shrinks to a long lasting film. The aroma is very grassy, with floral hops, honey, and weak peppery notes. The mouthfeel is medium bodied with average carbonation. The flavour is grass, honey, and spices with a lactic tang. Very flavourful for 3.6%.

Gold pour, decent sized head. Grassy aroma, cracker malt. Light bitter hops, fruity, grassy, cracker alt backbone. Light body.

Metalchopz (2367) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - NOV 7, 2014
Part of the Classic Ales 6-pack at the LCBO for Christmas 2014. Pours a very slight hazy golden colour with a frothy-creamy white cap, good retention and some wavy cream lace. Mild hop aromas at first (grass hints), but eventually the grain comes out with honey notes. Pretty much the same for taste. Quite refreshing and very good for such a mild ale.

A super session bitter. But very, very light on flavour. Touches of hops, hints of biscuity malts. Pretty basic, and super light.
