Pale orange amber with a creamy, lasting, lacy off-white head. Smells of toadted malt, light fruits and hops. Boring. Medium oily body. Tastes of toasted malt, caramel and light bitter hoppy FInish. Boring and uninteresting.

Cask in the Manifold Hotel, Derbyshire. Exceptionally dull, bland and watery. To me this was like a lager without the bubbles. A beer for people who don’t like beer.

Cask at the Black Dog Vauxhall. Short review at work do. Light orange/yellow with a small bubbly head. Still. Smell - mild orangey hops. Body is medium to light, low carbonation, smooth, watery. Taste - mostly water, some toffee, mild bitterness in the finish. Even though it’s watery, I quite enjoyed it. Very drinkable and pleasant.

Pours slightly hazy blond, white head. Smell fluffy sweet honey. Taste mild. Bit fruity and honey on the after taste. Light and easy drinking. Solid session beer.

For the sake of the social interaction just numeral ratings and/or some highlighted attributes. Slightly fruity, watery.

On cask @ the Black Swan near Penrith. Pours amber with a decent head. The nose has apple and toffee notes. More of the same on the taste. The palate lacks that nice crunchy biscuit texture I like in an English bitter. It is a bit ordinary, I’m afraid.

On tap at The George in Lichfield. Not really my bag but can see why people like it. I stopped. I think I know what’s next...

Cask at The Masons Arms, Solihull. Poured a crystal clear light amber with a frothy white head. The aroma is weak malt leading to a medium to weak bitter flavour, slightly malty with some weak hoppy bitterness in the palate. It’s a rather pale Pale Ale it has to be said.

Glowing pale yellow coloured ale with a good creamy head. Has a dry hoppy character.
